The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards couldn’t have seen a better start as some of the most renowned and talented artists of the music industry came together to open the event. The County Music Awards was kickstarted by all the nominees of ‘Entertainer of the Year’ including Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.

ACM 2020 is currently taking place from three different country music venues — The Grand Ole Opry House, The Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Texas. The music event which was originally scheduled to be held on April 5 in Las Vegas was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic from the novel coronavirus.

While Keith Urban is serving as the host, Taylor Swift will be gracing the Country Music Awards stage after seven years to perform ‘Betty’ from her latest album ‘Folklore’. The other performers for the star-studded evening include Trisha Yearwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Mickey Guyton, Tim McGraw and Blake Shelton featuring Gwen Stefani. Urban and Pink will deliver the world television premiere of their brand new collaboration 'One Too Many'.

Luke Combs, who took to the stage to perform a medley of his greatest songs, has been nominated under three categories: The Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for his ‘What You See Is What You Get’. The singer's performance of 'When it Rains it Pours' undeniably lifted the spirit of his fans who took to Twitter immediately to rave about their favorite country singer from the Bluebird Cafe. One of his fans wrote, "Luke Combs deserves the decade even though it just started," another added, "There is not one bad song by @lukecombs dude is a legend."

And one fan noted that the singer sounded better while delivering a live performance. One wrote, "Not many artists sound as good live as they do on a recording, but @lukecombs sounds even better. Love him." Another added, "Luke combs singing live in the bluebird cafe during the #CMAawards is the most luke combs thing and i love it."
