The iconic rock and roll band AC/DC has got everybody excited as they are all set to release their brand new album titled ‘Power Up’ (also stylised as PWR/UP) after a gap of six years. The official Twitter account of the Australian rock band had first announced the release of their 17th studio album on October 7, 2020.

The band shared a cover art of the new LP and captioned the post as, "'POWER UP’ OUT NOVEMBER 13. LIMITED EDITION DELUXE LIGHTBOX, CD, VINYL & DIGITAL DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER. 'SHOT IN THE DARK' AVAILABLE NOW. #PWRUP."

‘Power Up’ is a follow-up to their 2014 album ‘Rock or Bust’ and in a piece of good news, the new album will see the comeback of the original line-up — Angus Young (lead guitar), Brian Johnson (lead vocals), Cliff Williams (bass guitar), Phil Rudd (drums) and Stevie Young (rhythm guitar), following the death of their beloved member Malcolm Young in 2017.

Release date

The explosive new record from AC/DC is scheduled to hit the internet on November 13, 2020. ‘Power Up’ is also available for a pre-order here. Along with its release, collectors and die-hard fans can also look forward to exclusive merch, including a limited edition lightbox, digital downloads, CD and deluxe versions.

Concept

In an interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Angus described the new record, which is a special tribute to his late brother Malcolm. “This record is pretty much a dedication to Malcolm, my brother. It’s a tribute for him like 'Back in Black' was a tribute to Bon Scott." Scott died in 1980, which led AC/DC to recruit vocalist Brian Johnson.

Speaking about the group’s return, Angus told NME, “We got together in 2018 and we worked on a lot of ideas that Malcolm and me had done through the years."
