Aaron Carter raises eyebrows by kissing his mother on the lips at event, says she's 'the love of my life'
31-year-old singer Aaron Carter, who is the younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter, has always displayed a soft spot for his mother Jane Elizabeth Carter, having posted about her struggles with addiction and congratulated her on his Instagram for being 40 days sober. On Thursday night, however, he took that love to a whole new level while on the red carpet for WE's 'Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Family Edition' with an act that has made most of the public more than a little uncomfortable.
The singer was spotted kissing his mother on the lips while on camera during the event. He then went on to stroke her face with his hand.
Aaron was wearing a black dress shirt with a black tie, black pants, and black shoes, with a grey and blue suit coat at the event. His mother was dressed in a full-length blue dress paired with a small white handbag. The red carpet was held at Skybar in West Hollywood.
"This is the love of my life right here," Aaron recently said of his mother to Entertainment Tonight.
Aaron isn't exactly on the best of terms with the rest of his family. Both Aaron's siblings, 39-year-old Nick Carter and 31-year-old Angel Carter, are reportedly not on speaking terms with the singer.
In September, Nick and Angel both reportedly took out restraining orders against their brother citing alarming behavior, including his stockpile of weapons. Since then, Aaron has turned in many of his guns and sold the rest, though he is still embroiled in a very public feud with his brother Nick.
Aaron and his mother have reportedly been brought closer together after spending time on 'Marriage Boot Camp'. "There is nothing fake, there is nothing scripted about this show," Aaron told ETOnline on October 10. "[And] there is nothing fake or scripted about me."
"We weren't really talking that much. We talked a little bit, but we didn't really know each other anymore," his mom reflected during the same interview. "This helped us to get to know each other again, and it was wonderful."
Just days after Nick filed a restraining order against him, Aaron claimed to have been raped by his late sister Leslie Carter. He wrote on Twitter saying, "My sister raped me from the age of 10 to 13 years old when she wasn’t on her medications and I was abused not only sexually by her but by my first two back up dancers when I was 8 years old. And my brother abused me my whole life,"
