‘A Teacher’ Episode 4: Is Claire using Eric? Fans call her ‘sick b***h’ for THAT oral sex scene with husband Matt

In ‘A Teacher’, Claire could be leading Eric into falling in love with her while just using him for sex in return

Scandalous as it may be, the teacher-student relationship depicted in ‘A Teacher’ doesn't sit well with many viewers. The series revolves around Claire Wilson (Kate Mara), a young teacher at a suburban Texas high school and her student, Eric Walker (Nick Robinson), a charming all-American senior in her English class. Beautiful and quietly enigmatic, she is the newest teacher at Westerbrook High School.

Dissatisfied in her marriage to her college sweetheart Matt Mitchell (Ashley Zukerman), her life changes when Eric asks for help preparing for his SAT test. The fourth episode picks up right after the scene where they have their first sexual encounter in the backseat of their car. A game of grooming begins when Claire asks him to meet her for more tutorial sessions and sets new ground rules. 

Back at home, she acts weird around her husband. When he asks her if something is wrong, she lies she had a bad day at work and he concernedly pulls her closer towards him. Filled with guilt, she gives him a blow job. That scene makes it crystal clear how Claire isn't clear about what she really wants. Moreover, she may be leading Eric into falling in love with her while just using him for sex in return. 

Written and created by Hannah Fidell, the series edges on the lines of a scandalous relationship that may destroy the two central characters and their close ones once it comes into the public eye. Now, the biggest question lies: How will Claire hide the trail of her extramarital affair and will her husband Matt find out about it? 

Slamming that scene, fans expressed their disgust on Twitter and called Kate Mara's character a "sick b***h". "So this woman is sucking her husband's dick out of guilt for fucking her student?" one wrote and another said, "Okay she is definitely going to get pregnant and not know who the father is."

A third chimed in, "Eric professing to Claire he likes her blah blah into his feelings but Claire just wants sex she has no feelings for this innocent victim teenager she’s grooming him telling him the ground rules to follow." A fourth blew up in a fit of rage, saying, "Claire screws Eric goes home and gives her husband a blow job what sick b***h." A fifth added, "Kata Mara is doing a great job of making me really dislike her character."

Meanwhile, Eric confesses his feelings for her again when they meet: "I want this so much... But I'm just a little confused. But what about your rules? I don't wanna just f**k. I mean I love f**king you. But I like you — a lot. I feel like you're so funny, smart and beautiful. I've never been with someone like you before." Will he be shattered if he finds out she just took advantage of him? Only time will tell as more episodes roll out.

‘A Teacher’ premieres on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 3 am ET on FX on Hulu with three back-to-back episodes. More episodes in the 10-episodic series will follow every week starting from Tuesday, November 17, 2020 and the fifth one will premiere on November 24, 2020.
