Plot

‘A Million Little Pieces’ revolves around the life of a young writer James Frey (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), who checks himself into a rehab center following an accidental fall under the influence of drugs. While his admission to the clinic forms the premise of the movie, the rest of the plot mainly focuses on the people he meets during his rehabilitation and the relationships he builds with each of them. As the story progresses, we see James fall in love with Lilly (Odessa Young), although the rules forbade contact between the men and women in the clinic. When things fall apart, James and Lilly turn self-destructive. However, James’ strong will helps him through a successful recovery.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson essays the troubled protagonist James Frey in ‘A Million Little Pieces’. He is popular for his role as Lieutenant Ford in ‘Godzilla’. The actor picked a Golden Globes Award for Best Supporting Actor for Ray Marcus in ‘Nocturnal Animals’. He has also featured in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.

The ‘Wonderful’ and ‘Tricky Business’ actress Odessa Young is seen as Aaron’s love interest Lilly. She is known for roles in ‘The Daughter’ and ‘Looking for Grace’. She will be next seen as Rose in the film ‘Shirley’, which is in the post-production still.

‘A Million Little Pieces’ is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the wife of the lead actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who has co-written the script as well. The couple also serve as the producers of the film. The movie is based on the book of the same name, authored by James Frey.

The official teaser for ‘A Million Little Pieces’ released three months ago. In the beginning of the trailer, a deranged James finds himself aboard, unaware of what led him there. Later, he is dropped off at a rehabilitation center by his close friend, who is concerned about the former’s deteriorating health. The rest of the video gives glimpses of  incidents that occur during his stay in the clinic, his recurring episodes while detoxing, and the forbidden relationship with Lilly, who is also under recovery at the rehab.
