PARIS, FRANCE: Actor and comedian Richard Belzer dies at 78. 'The Homicide: Life on the Street' and 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' star took his last breath at his home in Bozouls in southwest France. The 78-year-old made his debut in the movie 'The Groove Tube.' 

Meanwhile, Bill Scheft, a friend of Belzer, confirmed his death, as per The New York Times. Scheft has been working on a documentary about Belzer's life and claimed that the actor had suffered from circulatory and respiratory diseases for years. However, many celebrities, including Mariska Hargitay, Christopher Meloni, and Ice T, went online to pay tribute to the late actor.
