LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Disney is setting sail towards Polynesia once again as it announces a live-action remake of its 2016 animated musical hit 'Moana'. Dwayne Johsnon revealed the project from Hawaii with a video of himself during the 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast.

In this video, Dwayne also revealed that he will be returning as Moana's demigod travel guide, Maui. He also said that the project was in its early days with much left to do before setting sail. “Like its animated predecessor, the film will celebrate the islands, communities and traditions of Pacific Islanders as seen through the eyes of a young woman eager to pave her path. Moana’s journey of self-discovery and reflection on the lives of her ancestors won hearts worldwide, as did her newfound friendship with an exiled demigod named Maui,” Disney wrote in a press release.
