A short video sequence of Fox's '911 Lone Star' featuring Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam) has suddenly gone viral. The scene was part of the episode, 'Texas Proud', which aired on January 27, 2020. The scene shows Marjan's hijab falling off during a rescue mission.

The men she works with rush to surround her covering her from the gaze of the public, but by then a video of this incident is recorded by bystanders and takes no time to go viral. Following this, Marjan faces a lot of flak from her own community. So much so that, at her mosque, she is told that other women are concerned about her lack of modesty and that she should find herself another place of worship.

The video of Marjan losing her hijab is now suddenly resurfaced on Twitter and it received a lot of flak, with many pointing out the show completely missed the point of a hijab. "This is actually annoying, the same portrayal of hijabis on all series. Somehow get their hijab off to show everyone their hair, complete opposite of its meaning," tweeted a fan.

Many users pointed out that there wasn't so much outrage when the episode first aired. Add to that the fact that the episode relied on white savior syndrome and continued to demonize the Muslim community, added many angry users. "Like they really made her yt coworkers out to be the heros and carry on to further demonize the muslim community. UGLY."

And some said the factual errors with this storyline is not even given a second thought. "That makes it so much worse. I have never heard of something so ridiculous and improbable. Hijab is not a requirement for attending masjid and masjids don't screen the internet to see who has viral videos doing 'unIslamic things'," tweeted one.

"How does that make sense? They do know that women without hijabs go to the masjid, right?" added another.

Others are slamming the networks for its constant portrayal of hijabis in the same, redundant manner. "The obsession to make a hijabi lose her hijab somehow in these movies...," said one. "Like they have to try really hard to get it wrong and yet every time it’s the SAME exact storyline," concurred another.

'9-1-1 Lone Star' has boasted of a diverse group of characters portrayed by a diverse cast. But this hardly worked in their favor since they were constantly being accused of being "too woke".

But even so, many are now pointing out that their representation is very faulty. "They 100% saw this and thought 'we are gonna look SO woke if we do this on our show!'"

"They just wanted a scene that makes Americans look like they’re not Islamaphobic and actually heroic," added a disgusted viewer. "They saw those girls do that with their soccer teammate and tried to steal their innocence and wokeness as their own. Spoken as a hijabi, miss me with this fake wokeness. Y’all can have that," added another.
