This story contains spoilers for '68 Whiskey' Episode 2 titled 'Finger Lickin' Good'

After being stranded in the middle of nowhere, Cooper Roback (Sam Keeley), Mekhi Davis (Jeremy Tardy) and Anthony Petrocelli (newcomer Nicholas Coombe) are trying to make their way back to the base. The camaraderie here hits so close to home, it is endearing to watch the three together. Oh, and don't forget Buckley's Goat there, who very much has a big role to play in this group dynamic - what with Petrocelli thinking he is some kind of a reincarnation of Buckley (Riley Baron), the medic they lost early in the first episode.

At the same time, much like actor Sam Keeley had told us, Roback has a big heart, and he is planning to make something happen. As Rosa Alvarez' (Cristina Rodlo) deportation nears, she seems to have accepted fate as she tells Roback and Davis about it. But Roback, with his white boy naivety, sees that something is wrong and wants to do something to change it.

So taking matters into his hands, Roback decides to move some gears to keep Alvarez in the country, and by extension in the Army. What will his secret move be? Will he be successful in helping Alvarez with this mission?

Elsewhere at the base, Sonia Holloway (Beth Riesgraf) has taken a liking to one of the new patients admitted at the base. We have seen Holloway as a stern and strict leader who doesn't fall for Roback's insubordination and makes it a point to not only bring it up but also punish him appropriately. At the same time, she also needs him because Roback has always got your back.

According to the official synopsis of the episode, "Roback, Davis, and Petrocelli make their way back to base through the treacherous desert- Roback makes a grand gesture to help out Alvarez, complicating things with Durkin; Holloway takes a special interest in one of her patients."

'68 Whiskey' airs on Wednesdays at 10/9c on Paramount Network.
