After teasing their fans for four years, rapper 21 Savage and producer Metro Boomin have finally announced the release date of their much-anticipated album ‘Savage Mode II’ and guess what, they have roped in Morgan Freeman on the new project. No, the Hollywood icon ain’t rapping, rather he is going to do what he does best i.e. to lend his heavenly voice for narration. Metro Boomin, who has produced songs for rappers like Gucci Mane and Migos, took to his official Twitter account to share the date and the official trailer of the brand new album. The trailer has been directed by Gibson Hazard. It features the God-like voice of Freeman.

21 Savage and Metro Boomin had released ‘Savage Mode’ in July 2016 and then both the artistes went on to focus on their solo projects. ‘Savage Mode II’ is a follow-up to their much-acclaimed 2016 EP.

Complex had reported at the beginning of 2020 about the Instagram Live session of 21 Savage where he spoke about the new album. According to the publication, the Atlanta-based rapper said, “Savage Mode 2 on the way. You know, I gotta perfect my shit. This shit take time. I be putting a lot of hard work into my shit. I ain't finna drop anything. My shit gotta be hard. So it's gonna take me a little bit longer. We working. I got a lot of other shit going on in my life too that I gotta balance, make all this shit work. But I promise you I'm working. It's finna drop. I promise, it's on the way.”

Tracklist

According to the publication Fader, 21 Savage had revealed to them in 2016 that the duo had recorded 20 to 30 new songs for the first part. The fans prayed for the sequel after 28,000-signature petition got surfaced on the Internet and now, finally their wish is going to come true on Friday, October 2, 2020. The official tracklist of ‘Savage Mode II’ has not been revealed yet. The entire project has been kept under wraps.
