BTS has confirmed joining the Big Hit Label family concert for 2021 New Year’s Eve Live while SEVENTEEN officially stated that they will not be participating in the Weverse sponsored event. On November 12, Big Hit Label released the final lineup for the concert which features 1st lineup ENHYPEN, NU’EST, 2nd lineup TXT and GFRIEND along with the final lineup, BTS, Bumzu and Lee Hyun. But why is SEVENTEEN missing from the lineup?

On November 11, a source from Pledis Entertainment told a Korean media outlet that “SEVENTEEN will not be attending ‘2021 NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE presented by Weverse.’ There is an activity already scheduled [for that day]. It was not possible to adjust their schedule, so it was decided that they will not be attending.” SEVENTEEN fans are clearly heartbroken by this announcement as a fan wrote, “SEVENTEEN will not be participating in BigHit Entertainment's first ever family concert my dream just popped :(( but it's okay let svt rest they've been busy for a while”. While another said, “I'm so sad, seventeen will not attend the concert ㅠㅠ how bout the interactions i want?”

Some fans are more optimistic as they are hoping, maybe this means that SEVENTEEN alone will be conducting a concert sometime soon.“Maybe no BigHit Label Concert because we are getting #Seventeen Concert? @pledis_17 #세븐틴” Another fan wrote,  “Seungkwan: At the end of year there will be stage that i think everyone can enjoy a lot Vernon: what stage is that??! They have prepared something amazing for us already guys, carats are always spoiled. Don't be too sad for not being in an event.”

SEVENTEEN has released their latest album on October 29 named ‘Semicolon’ which brought huge success for the group with over a million preorder sales plus charting number one in several countries. In June, SEVENTEEN got its first million sales hit album with their Extended Play 'Heng:garæ' which sold 1,000,000 copies in under a week along with topping 27 iTunes Top Albums charts around the world.

The group also made history by charting at no. 1 on Japan’s Oricon weekly albums chart with 'Heng:garæ'. They became the first foreign artist in 12 years to achieve this fit, a record previously set by Backstreet Boys.

2021 NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE presented by Weverse is the first event by Big Hit Entertainment where so many of their artists will be united in one event. There will also be an offline seating facility for the event which will be set according to government guidelines.
