2020 Soul Train Awards: El DeBarge duets with Chaka Khan, fans happy 'Rhythm of the Night' singer looks 'healthy'

Singer El DeBarge made an appearance on the 2020 Soul Train Awards' 'Pass the Mic' pre-show which showcased a number of R&B, soul, and hip-hop legends taking part in a virtual live concert. One of these legendary singers was El DeBarge. The 59-year-old singer and songwriter made quite the impression on the viewers as he looked incredibly fresh, healthier and much younger than his age, according to multiple viewers. He sang his iconic songs along with the legend of funk soul Chaka Khan. One viewer, seeing DeBarge, wrote, "El DeBarge looks great and healthy! God bless him," followed by the hashtag  #SoulTrainAwards. Another fan tweeted, "I am too out f**king done! El Debarge is on my TV in 2020! Looking healthy! I’m crying," while another said, "I love how we collectively (as Black people) really champion El DeBarge and how good he looks now. It's one of my favorite things!"

El DeBarge was the primary lead singer of the family group DeBarge. Popular songs led by DeBarge include 'Time Will Reveal', 'Stay with Me', 'All This Love', and 'Rhythm of the Night'. As a solo artist, he is best known for his unique high tenor register, strong falsetto, and hits like 'Who's Johnny' and 'Love Always'. He's also collaborated with artists such as Dionne Warwick, Al Green, Lalah Hathaway, Tone Loc, Babyface, Faith Evans, Quincy Jones, Fourplay, and DJ Quik.

DeBarge is a five-time Grammy Award nominee. With the family group DeBarge, he released five studio albums: 'The DeBarges' (1981), 'All This Love' (1982), 'In a Special Way' (1983), 'Rhythm of the Night' (1985), and 'Bad Boys' (1897). 'Rhythm of the Night' became the group's best-selling album with the title track hitting #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
