2020 CMT Music Awards: Is Kane Brown the worst host ever? Internet says singer has 'zero emotions'
The 2020 CMT Music Awards are underway and this year's ceremony is being hosted by Kane Brown, Sarah Hyland and Ashley McBryde. Brown, who won Male Video of the Year at the 2019 CMT Music Awards for his hit single 'Lose It', is hosting the ceremony for the first time. But going by the fan reactions to his hosting duties, the singer seems to be doing a less than impressive job.
Commenting on Kane's hosting abilities, one Twitter user said, "Kane Brown is trash. Don’t come for me," while another jokingly wrote, "Pretty big stage up there...hope ol' Kane Brown doesn’t get lost, am I right?"

Many Twitter users reacted to Kane as the host of the 2020 CMT Music Awards. One of them, more harsh than the others, commented, "Kane Brown the worst host ever! Never should CMT Awards ever have him out there! Zero emotion at all!" while another, criticizing the awards ceremony for not being country enough, added, "Kane Brown hosting the CMT awards tells you how 'country' the awards show really is."
A different user rhetorically asked, "Who let Kane Brown host the CMT Music Awards?" while another, terming the whole ceremony a "wack", said, "Kane Brown hosting & Sam Hunt performing??? WACK."

A viewer pointed out that Kane himself doesn't seem too happy to be hosting the 2020 CMT Music Awards saying, "@kanebrown doesn’t seem too happy to be hosting the CMT Awards," while another jokingly said, "One of these hosts is an insanely talented, tatted up, knock-you-on-your-a** country artist...The other one is Kane Brown." Another user, who really doesn't seem to be a fan of the 26-year-old 'Be Like That' singer, harshly tweeted, "Would masks prevent the spread of Kane Brown? #CMTawards."

Kane gained public attention after releasing his first EP 'Closer' in June 2015. After signing with RCA Nashville, he dropped the EP 'Chapter 1' in 2016 before releasing his first full-length album 'Kane Brown'. Soon, Kane became the first artist to have simultaneous #1s on all five main Billboard country charts. His second album titled 'Experiment' became his first #1 on the Billboard 200.
In 2020, Kane released 'Mixtape, Vol. 1' which peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200. He dropped the singles 'Cool Again', 'Worldwide Beautiful', 'Be Like That' featuring Swae Lee and Khalid and 'Worship You' from 'Mixtape, Vol. 1'.
