2020 CMT Awards: Luke Combs, Halsey and Kane Brown among stars set to raise heat at renowned fan-voted show
The CMT Awards, which are handed out by Country Music Television, are all set to gift their fans an evening of power-packed performances from one of the biggest artistes in the country music. The coveted event will be hosted by Ashley McBryde, country singer and current nominee Kane Brown as well as ‘Modern Family’ actress Sarah Hyland. The renowned awards will pick the best in different categories on October 21, 2020, as chosen by the fans.
Speaking of performances, here’s how the list of performers looks like:
Jimmie Allen and Noah Cyrus
Jimmie Allen was nominated in 2019 for Breakthrough Video of the Year for his song ‘Best Shot’ and this year he will hit the stage with the talented singer Noah Cyrus for a special performance.
Kane Brown
Kane Brown is having a good time in his career as he has performed at various music awards shows this year and he will make sure that he makes his audience groove to his songs on D-day as well. He’s nominated twice for Collaborative Video of the Year at this year’s CMT Awards for ‘Cool Again’ with Nelly and ‘One Thing Right’ with Marshmello.
Halsey and Kelsea Ballerini
Halsey will be performing a special duet with the talented singer Kelsea Ballerini. They are together nominated for CMT Performance of the Year for the song ‘Graveyard’. Kelsea has also scored three CMT nominations this year including Video of the Year for ‘Homecoming Queen?’
Ingrid Andress
Ingrid Andress, who has scored a nomination for Breakthrough Video of the Year for ‘More Hearts Than Mine’ will perform her hit single ‘Lady Like’ at the awards show.
Luke Combs and Brooks & Dunn
One of the biggest country musicians, Luke Combs, and duo Brooks & Dunn will come together for a special performance to mesmerize their audience. The duo has earned a nomination for Performance of the Year for ‘Brand New Man’ with Combs. The latter has separate three nods at CMT.
Gabby Barrett
The 20-year-old singer is expected to perform her hit single ‘I Hope’ for which she has also scored a nod in two categories, namely Female Video of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year.
Luke Bryan
Luke Bryan is one of the prominent figures in the country music and he will hit the stage with his hit singles like ‘Strip It Down,’ ‘One Margarita,’ and ‘Kick the Dust Up.’ He is nominated for Male Video of the Year for ‘One Margarita.’
Dan + Shay
The talented duo will spread the magic with their soulful voices with the help of songs like ‘10,000 Hours’ and ‘I Should Probably Go to Bed’. They have scored three nods this year.
Sam Hunt
The handsome hunk, who has got three CMT nominations this year, including Male Video of the Year for ‘Hard to Forget’, will croon his hit numbers like ‘Body Like a Back Road’ and of course ‘Hard to Forget’.
Travis Denning
The 27-year-old American country music singer will belt out his hit songs like ‘After a Few’ and ‘Sittin’ By A Fire’ among others. Travis has earned a nod for Breakthrough Video of the Year for ‘After a Few’.
Riley Green
The 32-year-old crooner recently won an ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year. Riley will take over Ram Trucks Side Stage with his recent hit singles like ‘Better Than Me, ‘If It Wasn't for Trucks’ and ‘There was this Girl’ among others. He is nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year for ‘I Wish Grandpas Never Died.’
Mickey Guyton
The 37-year-old vocalist will perform her hit single ‘Heaven Down Here’ among a few others. She recently performed at ACM Awards as well.
Caylee Hammack
The American country singer has been nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year for ‘Family Tree’ and she is expected to perform her other hit number titled ‘Just Friends’.
Ashley McBryde
Ashley McBryde has got two nods this year at 2020 CMT Awards Female Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year, both for ‘One Night Standards’. Fans will be expecting her to perform the same song on the evening of the awards ceremony.
Little Big Town
The trio might belt out their popular songs like ‘Next to You,’ ‘Sugar Coat’ and ‘Wine, Beer, Whiskey’ for which they are nominated in the Group Video of the Year category.
Shania Twain
This evening will be special for the singer Shania Twain as the legendary singer is all set to perform at the CMT Awards. The 55-year-old singer flaunts an extensive discography and therefore, she might pick any of her best songs.
Maren Morris
Morris is nominated for Female Video of the Year for ‘The Bones’ and her group the Highwomen are nominated for Group Video of the Year for ‘Crowded Table’. Now, that’s what you call good news. Apart from ‘The Bones,’ the talented vocalist might perform other songs as well.
Morgan Wallen
The 27-year-old American country singer is expected to floor his fans with songs like ‘7 Summer,’ ‘This Bar’ and ‘Cover Me Up’ among a few others.
Hardy
The singer will croon his one of the biggest hits, ‘One Beer’ in his magical voice. He might also perform ‘Give Heaven Some Hell.’
According to The Boot, the Tennessean reported that performances for the 2020 CMT Music Awards were taped at Bicentennial Park in downtown Nashville, Sycamore Farms in Arrington, Tenn, Ruskin Cave in Dickson County and the Estate at Cherokee Dock.
Just like other award shows got delayed due to the unfortunate global pandemic this year, the 2020 CMT Music Awards are no different. They were rescheduled from June and will now air on October 21 at 8 pm CT on CMT as well as MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop TV and TV Land, as reported by The Boot.
