2020 CMA Awards: Eric Church wins Entertainer of the Year award, fans say ‘CMAs won’t let any woman win’

One of the most prolific country musicians, Eric Church added one more feather to his cap after he took home the biggest award at the 54th edition of CMA Awards. The 43-year-old crooner scooped Entertainer of the Year at the coveted award show beating the likes of country music stalwarts Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Keith Urban.
Eric Church was also nominated for the Male Vocalist of the Year at 2020 CMA Awards which he lost to Luke Combs but this did not disappoint his fans at all since Entertainer of the Year is considered a bigger award. A lot of users took to Twitter to express their joy on the same. One elated fan said, “I’m actually [email protected] react to @ericchurch winning Entertainer of the Year. Wow. I love country music. #CMAawards” One person stated, “The #CMAawards finally did Eric Church right. The man should’ve won years ago but it always comes around. Congrats to the chief!” Another added, “I was so happy to see Eric Church win tonight. There's no one more deserving than Eric Church. He is the ultimate fans musician favorite. It's a long time coming. Congrats @ericchurch #CMAawards #countrymusic”
One user, however, felt otherwise and tweeted, “eric church’s cma win was long over due… but @carrieunderwood and @mirandalambert big win was even more overdue!! @CountryMusic when the f**k are you gonna give some credit to your powerful women #CMAawards” Another got disappointed and stated, “What in the world!!! Eric Church Entertainer of the year!! NO WAY!! Carrie you keep getting robbed! Ridiculous! #CMAawards #CarrieUnderwood” Speaking on the same lines, one posted, “Agree I love @ericchurch and he has been snubbed for years too. I [email protected] mad he won. Just disgusted that CMAs won’t let @carrieunderwood win or any woman win. Sickening. #CMAawards”
