Harry Styles scooped the Billboard Chart Achievement Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. However, the British crooner could not make it to the award show and hence, TikTok sensation Addison Rae, who presented the award, accepted it on his behalf. This was the moment when the Internet lost calm, as fans were puzzled as to why the social media personality accepted the award on behalf of the 'Watermelon Sugar' hitmaker.

The official Twitter account of Billboard Music Awards only posted a short 36-second video on their wall where we could see the 20-year-old Rae taking over the stage only to present the award. “@whoisaddison presents the Billboard Chart Achievement Award at the #BBMAs!”

However, fans who were live-streaming the entire event saw what exactly happened and took it to Twitter to express how shocked they were when Addison accepted Styles’s award. One user made fun of the Tik-Tok star and said, “She also forgot to open the envelope revealing the winner of the award.” Another user posted, “To me it doesn’t seem like she’s as talented as the people that i look up to, yet she was presenting and accepting an award for harry styles. of course i’m super happy he won, but addison rae makes me extremely uncomfortable and i didn’t like that.”

A third tweeted a funny video and said, “Harry styles calling the security on addison rae after finding out that a tiktoker is going to be his presenter for the BBMA.” One individual stated, “Can’t wait for the wedding! @Harry_Styles and @whoisaddison Loads of love x.”

The coveted award ceremony was hosted by Kelly Clarkson, who returned to the awards stage for the third time in a row. BBMAs saw much-awaited performances from some of the biggest selling artistes on the planet like Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, BTS, Post Malone, Saint JHN, Sia, and Garth Brooks among a few others.

One of the biggest winners of the evening was Post Malone, who took home the award of Top Artist and Top Male Artist whereas Billie Eilish scored the Top New Artist and Top Female Artist. Garth Brooks also received the Icon Award at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.

BMAs were broadcasted live straight from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on NBC. Viewers also live-streamed the coveted music award show on NBC Live. The 2020 Billboard Music Awards were first scheduled for April 29, 2020, but got delayed due to the unfortunate Covid-19 lockdown.
