PARIS, FRANCE: Within a short span of time, 'Under Paris' has mesmerized viewers with its gripping storyline and breathtaking underwater scenes.

'Under Paris' has earned its reputation as one of the best shark movies ever produced, delivering an exhilarating and immersive experience for viewers. 

The film revolves around Sophia (Bérénice Bejo), a talented marine researcher. While conducting vital research in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, Sophia experiences a devastating tragedy. A brutal shark attack leads to the death of her husband and some of her team members. 

A few years later, Sophia discovers that the same shark, named Lilith by her team, has found its way into the River Seine in the heart of Paris. She is now faced with a race against time to save Paris from a potential international bloodbath.

'Deep Blue Sea' (1999)

'Deep Blue Sea', a 1999 American science fiction horror film, is often regarded as one of the best shark movies due to its thrilling storyline.

The film revolves around a group of scientists who are conducting research on sharks to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease. However, the sharks become smarter and they begin to outsmart the scientists, causing havoc on their underwater research facility.

'Open Water', a 2003 American horror thriller film, stars Blanchard Ryan as Susan Watkins and Daniel Travis as Daniel Kintner. 

'Open Water' follows the story of Daniel and Susan, who feel disconnected due to their busy lives. To rekindle their relationship, they plan a scuba-diving trip together.

However, a mistake in the headcount leads the boat crew to believe that everyone has returned, so they depart without realizing that Daniel and Susan are still in the water. When the couple surfaces, they see the boat in the distance but do not immediately realize that they have been left behind.

They are left stranded in waters teeming with sharks, their situation growing increasingly desperate as they struggle to survive.

'Ghost Shark' (2013)

Subsequently, a ghost hunter and a sea captain form an unlikely alliance to delve into the mysterious and dark history of their coastal town. Together, they aim to uncover the secrets behind the supernatural man-eating shark that haunts the waters and find a way to stop the crisis.

'47 Meters Down: Uncaged', directed by Johannes Roberts and co-written by Roberts and Ernest Riera, revolves around a group of teenage girls who embark on a scuba diving adventure to explore a sunken Mayan city.

However, their exploration takes a terrifying turn when they become trapped underwater with a group of sharks.

Starring Sophie Nélisse as Mia, Corinne Foxx as Sasha, Brianne Tju as Alexa, and Sistine Stallone as Nicole, '47 Meters Down: Uncaged' is a sequel to the 2017 film, '47 Meters Down'.
