Zooey Deschanel dating Jonathan Scott from 'Property Brothers' just a week after splitting from husband Jacob Pechenik
Zooey Deschanel and ex-husband Jacob Pechenik might have had a super-private relationship, but just a week after announcing their split, the actress is going all public with her new man - Jonathan Scott from HGTV's 'Property Brothers'.
Having met while shooting an episode of 'Carpool Karaoke', sources revealed to People, "It’s new, but they are having a lot of fun together." The 39-year-old was seen walking hand in hand with her new 41-year-old beau, who looks quite similar to her ex Pechenik. In photos published by Hollywood Life, Deschanel and Scott couldn't have looked any cuter as they flaunted each other, and their new relationship with all the adorable PDA under the sun, arriving at Little Dom’s restaurant in Silver Lake, California on Friday, September 13.
With wide smiles being a constant during the couple's outing, Deschanel was seen rocking a blue dress and metallic flats while Scott was seen in bomber jacket, grey jeans, and sneakers.
This mushy development comes after the 'New Girl' and '500 Days of Summer' actress announced on September 6 that she and Pechenik were calling it quits after four years of marriage. “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners, and co-parents rather than life partners,” a rep for the couple told People in a joint statement. “We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”
Sources have also revealed to People that the former couple had been separated for months before announcing the news. They had met on the sets of the Bill Murray comedy 'Rock the Kasbah' and announced their engagement in January 2015. They got married that summer and welcomed their first child - now four-year-old daughter Elise - in July. They also share a two-year-old son called Charlie.
Earlier this year, while opening up to People about being a mother, Deschanel shared how she has never shown her kids any of her work and both she and Pechenik preferred keeping the whole TV thing away from them. “To them, I’m just Mom,” she explained. “They don’t really watch TV, anyway. They don’t watch anything. It’s basically books and coloring books and toys and stuff.”
Deschanel was also previously married to Ben Gibbard, the lead singer of Death Cab For Cutie. Her new man, Scott, was previously married to Kelsy Ully, with their marriage lasting from 2007 to 2010.
