SOHO, NEW YORK: Zayn Malik and Selena Gomez apparently had a secret romantic dinner date while in New York City. They were reportedly quite "comfortable together."
The two have been the subject of strong dating rumors since TikToker Klarissa Garcia shared a video in which she claimed a friend of hers is a waitress at a restaurant where Zayn and Selena allegedly dined together. Now, an insider has confirmed those claims, saying that the couple entered the restaurant "holding hands and kissing" and appeared to be completely at ease with one another.

'It was clear that it was a date'
An eyewitness told, "Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurantgoers didn't notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date," as per ET.

'Selena will help ground him'
Zayn follows only 18 people on Instagram, one of them being Selena. If the dating rumors are accurate, it may be a new beginning for Zayn as his worried family reportedly wants him to return to his native Bradford from New York due to his well-documented anxiety issues and cannabis use. A source added, "Zayn’s life has been turbulent in recent years and his loved ones are hopeful that Selena will help ground him and be a calming influence. They’re well suited and are both quite spiritual, so could be a great match in the long run," as per The Sun.

Zayn had an unsteady, on-again, off-again relationship with supermodel Gigi Hadid, with whom he shares a two-year-old daughter, Khai. In October 2021, details of their most recent breakup became public over Zayn's violent argument with Gigi's reality star mother Yolanda Hadid. In spite of reports that he was physically abusive during their argument in September, Zayn pled not guilty to four charges of harassment. He was prohibited from speaking to Yolanda or the security guard who witnessed the altercation, and he was sentenced to 360 days of probation and an anger management program.
Meanwhile, Selena has a long history of dating other music artists, including The Weeknd and Justin Bieber, who she first fell in love with as a teenager.
