Why is Hailey receiving death threats?
Hailey and Selena's feud has recently intensified with Hailey allegedly bullying Selena online. The feud began when Hailey, along with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye, mouthed the audio "I'm not saying she deserved it, but God's timing is always right" in a now-deleted video. Fans speculated that Hailey was referring to Selena who had just been fat-shamed. Later, Hailey and Kylie Jenner were accused of mocking Selena's eyebrows on Instagram. While Kylie denied any involvement, Selena defended her friend Taylor Swift after a video resurfaced of Hailey shading her. The beef between the two stars dates back to 2018 when Hailey got engaged to Justin Bieber just months after he ended his on-and-off relationship with Selena for good.
'We don’t follow mean girls'
Hailey received a barrage of cruel messages from online trolls after she posted a sweet message for her husband Justin Bieber on his birthday. The comments targeted the model amid the rumoured feud with Justin's ex-girlfriend Selena. One commenter wrote, "Happy b'day Justin and gift yourself divorce papers," while another said, "Just reminded me to unfollow." A third person added, "Definitely reminded me to unfollow. We don’t follow mean girls." The hate towards Hailey even extended to Bieber's recent concert where "Hailey hate chants" were heard.
The comment section of Justin's birthday post was also overwhelmed with a barrage of negative remarks aimed at Hailey. Some users posted comments like, "If you need help, wear red in your next post!" and "You don't have kids, buddy, so you still have time to save yourself." Meanwhile, other users quickly took notice of Justin's lack of a wedding ring and commented, "He's not even wearing his ring." Moreover, numerous fans also observed that Justin seemed content in all his photos except for the ones featuring Hailey. Amidst this the hashtag #TeamSelena began trending online and Kylie reportedly lost half a million social media followers while Hailey's following decreased by close to a million in total. On the contrary, Selena saw her following increase by 10 million as a result of the online trolling accusations aimed at the pair.
