'You': Fans differ on whether Season 2 is better than Season 1, but agree supporting characters are better

Fans are thrilled that the new season is out all at once so they can binge their way to the end to figure out what happens with Joe and his new friends and neighbors.

After a long wait, fans finally got to watch Joe Goldberg, or rather, Will Bettelheim on the second season of 'You' as he moved to Los Angeles after meeting his ex-girlfriend, Candace in New York.

We also meet Love and Forty Quinn, the twins who are heirs to the Anavrin grocery store chain, one of which Joe works as a bookseller for. Joe falls for Love, but realizes too late that she is a lot like him — she killed both Delilah and Candace to protect her relationship with Joe.

Of course, fans are thrilled that the new season is out all at once so they can binge their way to the end to figure out what happens with Joe and his new friends and neighbors. Though some felt Season 2 was much better than Season 1, others disagree.

One fan wrote, "Y’all I just binge-watched the whole season and let me tell you, I’m f***ing mind blown and this so much better than the first season! Someone talk to me about this because I’m going nuts and already ready for season 3  #YouNetflix."

Another tweeted, "they did it, #YouS2 is even better than season 1! That industrial meat slicer scene will haunt me though #YouNetflix."

A viewer on Reddit wrote, "I really wanted to like this season but I can’t bring myself to enjoy it. What’s the deal with Ellie? Her character is so infuriating, for some reason."

Another wrote, "Extremely disappointed in this season. It's not like the books at all and is all over the place. The storyline did not make any sense at all. Left if open to being a 3rd season but I will not be watching that season at all. It's a mess to get through. They seriously messed with a decent book meaning hidden bodies and turned it into a true mess of a show. Seriously like zero of the same story. The book was way more interesting."

However, fans agree that the supporting characters of Season 2 are better written than Season 1. On a Reddit thread, one fan wrote, "I liked season 1 better, but I think season 2 did side characters better," while another added, "Thought it was more thrilling and the side characters were much better, but the ending just leaves such a sour taste."

All episodes of Season 2 of 'You' are now streaming on Netflix.
