'You are so wrong': 'The Voice' fans slam Blake Shelton for booting Tanner Fussell after battles round

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As the eight-time reigning champion of 'The Voice', coach Blake Shelton has over the years developed a knack for identifying great talent. While the OG coach's instincts and decisions are usually well accepted by the show's audience, his decision to not save Tanner Fussell after the recently aired battles round didn't sit well with fans.

For 'The Voice' Season 22's battles round, Blake pitted Austin Montgomery against Tanner. Considering both the singer were vocal powerhouses, Blake decided to test their range by assigning Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' as their battles song. The duo left all the coaches pleasantly surprised with their jaw-dropping, high-energy performance. Since both Tanner and Austin delivered a great performance, Blake was in a tough position when it came to deciding on the winner. After some deliberation, the coach picked Austin as the winner.

Unfortunately since neither Blake nor any of the other coaches attempted to save or steal Tanner, his journey on the singing competition show came to an end. After watching Tanner's elimination from 'The Voice', several fans took to Twitter to call out Blake for not saving Tanner. A fan tweeted, "You are so wrong to not pick TANNER!! Austin is a karaoke singer. Trys to sound like who he'sperforming @blakeshelton #TheVoice." "@blakeshelton #TheVoice I LEGIT CAN'T believe that you didn't pick my brother Tanner to win his voice battle. Grrrrrr. He deserved the win! What were you thinking?????," wrote a fan. "@blakeshelton #TheVoice First time ever totally disagree. Should have kept or saved Tanner!," added a fan.

They both sang Folsom prison blues by Johnny Cash. So excellent hit them low notes pretty perfect !!!" seconded a fan. 'The Voice' Season 22 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
