'It's just all been such a whirlwind': WWE star Carmella and husband Matt Polinsky expecting first child after 2 miscarriages
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: WWE star Carmella, 35, announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband, Matt Polinsky, 39. The wrestling celebrity, who was born as Leah Van Dale, opened up about the big news on Good Morning America claiming she "cautiously optimistic" after suffering two miscarriages last year, including an ectopic pregnancy. This good news comes after the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on April 7.
"It's just all been such a whirlwind," Van Dale said of her pregnancy. "I think because of my past, it was hard to get excited off the bat about this one, but I was cautiously optimistic. I try to have a good mindset, a positive mindset this time around, and it's working. So I'm very happy about that."

Good news for Carmella and Maty Polinsky
Van Dale, who is a former Smackdown champion, took to social media to share the news with her 3.3 million fans. "After every storm there is a rainbow," she wrote sharing black and white photos of herself and Polinsky, who goes by the ring name Corey Graves. "Our little miracle is due this November and we couldn’t be more thrilled," she added with a picture of a sonogram of the baby.
The 35-year-old wore a white bra top and an open button-down shirt with her jeans unbuttoned to show off her growing baby bump. Her long brown hair was styled in long waves while the 39-year-old looked relaxed in a white t-shirt and jeans. The WWE superstar shared another snap of a cute white onesie with the words 'Little Miracle' written on it. Alongside, Van Dale shared a photo of the sonogram and a sign announcing that her bundle of joy is due in November 2023.
'But I've never been so happy to feel so awful!'
Van Dale revealed that her morning sickness has been "insane" and that she has been more tired than she has ever been in her life. However, despite her apprehension due to her past miscarriages, she said that she has a positive mindset this time around. "I've been so tired, more tired than I've ever been in my life," she explained. "But I've never been so happy to feel so awful. I've been great, I mean mentally. It's kind of this weird space where I'm excited, but also just a little apprehensive because of the miscarriages. It's unfortunate that it robs you of the true excitement that should be there."
Polinsky has three children from his marriage to his first wife, Amy Polinsky; a son, Cash, and two daughters, Lenny and Lola. The WWE superstar referred to the trio as her "bonus kids" and said that they are excited about having a new sister or brother. "They were so, so excited, and made us even more excited about having the baby. That's just so amazing."
