EXCLUSIVE | 'Total Divas' star Leah Van Dale dishes on boyfriend Matt Polinsky and their podcast 'Bare With Us'
Coronavirus has disrupted everyone's life by forcing people to stay inside their houses. However, 'Total Divas' star Leah Van Dale has been making good use of it. Dale is quarantining with her boyfriend, Matt Polinsky and just like every other relationship, these two also have their ups and downs.
Making use of the current situation, the pair decided to start their podcast, 'Bear With Us' where they plan on being honest and open about everything revolving around their relationship. Right from communication and honesty to sex, the couple is ready to bare it all. In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Dale opened up about her relationship with Polinsky and spilled the beans on her new podcast.
For anyone who has seen 'Total Divas', these two are no strangers. Dale and Polinsky have known each other for a long time but their relationship was not always smooth sailing. The pair went on their first date on camera and Leah confessed they both had been feeling nervous and were trying their best to act normal.
While their date brought them closer, one thing the pair did not expect to see was the backlash that followed after. Polinsky's ex-wife, Amy accused him of cheating on her with Dale. While the dust of these allegations has settled down, Dale admitted it was a hard journey to overcome. "It put a toll on both of us mentally and emotionally. If anything, it brought the two of us closer together. It was almost like us against the world. We knew the truth and we knew everyone would find out what happened sooner or later. The truth always reveals itself," she said. Despite this, Dale has managed to forge a beautiful relationship with Polinsky and his children.
"I adore his kids. We have so much fun together," she said. " It was definitely an adjustment at first, as I don’t have any children of my own, but we’re all learning and growing together every day while creating our own new “normal.” The pair have been quarantining together and this has inspired them to get creative.
Dale and Polinsky wanted to do something for a long time but they never got a chance to do so. Luckily for them, they got all the time they needed to reflect on some of the options they had in hand. This gave rise to the idea of 'Bear With Us'. "Being in quarantine together sort of forced us to be creative and we started doing our little talk show on my Instagram Live every day. From there it just evolved and the Bare With Us podcast was born. As of now, we don’t have any guests lined up. It’s just the two of us. Maybe eventually we will get more people involved, but we’re still figuring out what our show will even be!" she said.
While there is no doubt that Dale and Polinsky are looking forward to their podcast, one thing that they have been finding hard to adjust to is the new normal of staying at home. "We went from being on the road 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, to being isolated for months. That in and of itself was so strange. We just moved in together at the tail end of 2019, so we were just getting used to being around each other regularly. We went from one extreme to the other, so it was an adjustment getting used to being together 24/7," she said.
However, she joked that due to quarantine, Polinsky was finally finding out how hilarious she is. They have even managed to make a small routine for themselves and it has made all the difference by making quarantine bearable for them. "We have coffee together every morning, go for bike rides, cook dinner, and watch our nightly shows. I feel like we’re this old couple and I wouldn’t change it for anything."
But then having each other around constantly could give rise to some annoying habits as well. In fact, one thing that Dale dislikes about Polinsky is that he does not empty the dishwasher. That being said, the love the pair shares is enough to survive all the quarantine days. Dale even hinted that for her a wedding has never off the table. "I’ve been planning my wedding since I was 5. So hopefully I’ll be able to bring those plans to fruition at some point in this lifetime," she said.
