Country legend Willie Nelson, 89, is all smiles in a Santa hat during Christmas with his wife and sons
SPICEWOOD, TEXAS: Willie Nelson, the 89-year-old Country legend, has devoted his life to creating a magnificent family. Nelson and his family got together for Christmas to spend time with each other, and to commemorate the occasion, the 'Okie from Muskogee' singer's son, Lukas, shared a photo of the family sitting together in from of a large lit-up Christmas tree.
In the picture, Lukas and his brother Micah, were seen sitting next to their parents, Annie D'Angelo and their beaming father, along with their dogs taking a siesta nearby. Micah's wife was also present in the picture, smiling next to him. Micah and Nelson were wearing Santa hats. A scribble on the picture read, "Merry Christmas! the Nelsons in 2022," in red, green, and white.

Following the release of the photo, the country singer's followers responded by wishing the family a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year. They praised the family as "loving, compassionate and inspirational."
Willie Nelson's difficult year
Despite leading an eventful and happy life, Nelson reportedly made several mistakes along the road, most notably his previously failed marriages. Martha Matthews was the first woman he married in 1952. They had three children, Billy, Lana, and Susie. The couple split up in 1963, as per AmoMama.
Following Martha was Shirley Collie, but their relationship did not last very long. Then, the musician married Connie Koepke sometime in the '70s, and they had two daughters, Paula and Amy Lee. They split up in 1988, and Nelson moved on once again.
Finally, Willie met a makeup artist during a shoot in 1986, and the two instantly fell in love. Annie D'Angelo seemed to be the only one who stayed after Nelson's three failed relationships. They had Lukas and Micah. Billy died by suicide the same year at the age of 33 in his own home. Nelson wrote about the heartbreaking loss in his book 'It's a Long Story: My Life'. He wrote, "When Billy left us, he took his story with him. It is an unnatural and unspeakably painful act for a father to bury a child. I will remember Billy always and in this, my attempt to tell my own tale, I want the world to know that this good boy, this good man, this good son will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him so well," per AmoMama.
Willie Nelson's youngest sons become his blessing
Nelson had a lot on his mind after Billy's death. Micah and Lukas, born in 1990 and 1988 respectively, were Nelson's "blessings" and he wanted to raise them in Abbott, where he grew up. The three of them settled in a home he bought from a local resident. However, soon, he started touring with his band, and decided to take his sons along.
As a child, Micah played harmonica, and his brother played percussion instruments. Their father's passion for music inspired them to become musicians as well. Regarding his boys, Nelson reportedly said, "I am really happy and proud of the boys."
Micah and Lukas have fond memories of their father from their childhood and they both firmly believe that their legendary father will live long. Lukas reportedly said that he believed his father would live to be "108 years old."
