LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: William Shatner won't be flying to space again, but will be going somewhere interesting. The 'Star Trek' alum seems enthusiastic about going back to work as he will be hosting a new reality show called 'Stars On Mars' that will be filmed in Australia. The red Australian soil is supposed to mimic the red dust of Mars, and hence the "land down under" has been chosen as the location for this show. The reality show will take the celebrities through an otherworldly experience, and they will see what it's like to be an astronaut on Mars.

After saying he 'doesn't have long left to live,' William Shatner is back on the screens to be a host on the reality show, where he will guide the celebrities to do space-themed tasks as they run to become the best celebrity astronaut standing, or a "celebronaut" if you may.

The cast will be primarily American

Although the reality show will take place in Australia, the cast will mainly consist of American celebrities, with many well-known names making the list. The star of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Lisa Rinna is the first to be booked for the reality show. 'Stars on Mars' premieres on Monday, June 5, at 8 p.m. on Fox. The show will be released under Fremantle’s Eureka Productions.

'We will learn a lot about these stars'

When talking about the show, Allison Wallach, the head of Fox's unscripted programming, shared her thoughts about the show and how she wants it to be taken by the audience, she said, "Watching celebrities take giant leaps out of their comfort zone and step into the unexpected will no doubt be truly transformational and comical. Throughout, we will learn a lot about these stars, and when you factor in William Shatner leading the charge from Mission Control, we have the makings of a show that's ready for blast off." According to the Daily Mail.

Despite being 92 years old, Shatner seems quite enthused about fronting a new reality show and taking charge. The 'Star Trek' alum was last seen taking a trip into space with Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin New Shepard rocket ship in 2021 at the age of 90. After the space trip, Shatner became the oldest person alive to take a trip into space. The actor released a documentary about his life titled 'You Can Call Me Bill. When speaking about it, the actor shared his thoughts and said, "I've turned down a lot of offers to do documentaries before. But I don't have long to live. Whether I keel over as I'm speaking to you or 10 years from now, my time is limited, so that's very much a factor. I've got grandchildren. This documentary is a way of reaching out after I die."
