PHOENIX, ARIZONA: College football has always had dramatic events, but the recent incident involving Robert Griffin III takes the cake! TCU Horned Frogs' big win in the NCAA Football semifinals had culminated in the third quarter when, in the middle of covering the semifinal game for ESPN's 'Field Pass with the Pat McAfee Show,' an alternate broadcast of the 2022 Fiesta Bowl, Griffin took a call to learn that his pregnant wife Grete was in labor!

While his co-hosts initially seemed unimpressed with Griffin's decision to pick up the phone and run to the sidelines in the middle of a broadcast, they smiled when they learned of the news and quickly came together to celebrate with him. What lightened up the incident a bit was an ESPN camera following Griffin as he ran as fast as he could out of the stadium to be with his wife.

While Griffin speaks on the phone on camera, his colleagues chat away about the game. One of the presenters eventually notices and asks, “What are we doing? We’re in the middle of a game.”

“I gotta go,” Griffin, 33, said. “My wife is going into labor! I’ll see you guys later,” he exclaimed, before running off. New York Post reports that this is Griffin’s fourth child and third by his wife Grete Sadeiko, 29, with whom he has been married since 2018. The pair had begun seeing each other immediately after Griffin’s first divorce.

Robert and Grete are already parents to two other children - daughter Gloria, born in 2017, and another daughter, born in 2019. With his ex-wife, Baylor student Rebecca Liddicoat, Griffin has an oldest daughter together, Reese Ann, who was born in 2015. Liddicoat and Griffin were married for three years between 2013 and 2016.

As for the game itself, the Horned Frogs had pulled off the ultimate surprise when they reached the national championships after a big win over the Michigan Wolverines. When the year began, the odds of winning were 200 to 1, but now they are just one win away from their first trophy since 1938, more than 84 years later.
