LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ show never fails to disappoint with its quirky segments and the laughs they generate. Whether it is Al Roker’s small goof-ups or Hoda Kotb’s antics, the show has something for everyone who tunes in. Only recently, another such hilarious goof featured the show's weather man, Al Roker.

Roker was in the studio when a segment showcasing a cat’s litter box was being promoted. The 68-year-old clumsily tried to inspect it while picking it up and the prop fell and broke. Al was left red-faced as he stepped back while trying to control his laughter. To everyone’s relief, the cat kept in the litter box was only a prop, and no kittens were hurt.

Why was Al Roker embarrassed?

Roker was present when the product segment's host was trying to demonstrate and exhibit how the cat’s litter box worked. As she explained the product and its benefits, Roker stepped forward and leaned in to check the piece. He looked at the cat prop kept below and said, “This is our green room cat.” However, when he tried to pick up the lid, it fell and broke, with pebbles on top of it scattering everywhere. Roker immediately retreated, totally embarrassed, but saw the humor in the moment and started chuckling.

The host of the segment immediately retorted, “This didn’t happen during the rehearsal.” She then called out for a broom to clean the mess that Roker just made and also joked in the process, “No cats were hurt in the making of this.” The ‘Today’ weatherman tried to rescue the situation, saying the box broke due to his goof up. He then pulled out the cat prop from below and smilingly said, “Here’s the cat.”

'Not the best promo for this product'

The incident went viral right after the broadcast and its clip on Instagram amused fans. One viewer wrote, “Not the best promo for this product. So glad they weren’t using a real cat” as a second said, “They just proved that this is a useless tool. That will cause a mess when your cat...goes cat. Lol.” A third mentioned, “It was an accident, but it was funny. Al’s reaction was so like Al. It might be an indication not to buy that item, or not decorate as it was shown. Al is always the best!” A fourth said, “This was hilarious! My husband and I rewound it to watch again. Thanks for the laugh @alroker. Glad the “cat” was ok!” while a fifth stated, “Omg! So funny! I'd never be able to recover if I was in her place. So hilarious.”
