Lisa Vanderpump's Pump Restaurant to close after 'Vanderpump Rules' star refuses to pay 'ridiculous' $1M rent
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Ever since Tom Sandoval's cheating scandal, things have not been going well for the 'Vanderpump Rules' cast members. And now comes another shocking news. Lisa Vanderpump's Wes Hollywood's famous Pump Restaurant Lounge is closing. Yes, you heard it right, the Pump Restaurant will no longer be serving its customers.
But what is the reason behind the sudden closure of the restaurant? Is the money crunch the reason behind the shutdown? It seems so! The other franchises of Vanderpump's restaurant are in Santa Monica and Robertson. With the closing, Lisa will undoubtedly face a major hit in her income. Is Lisa looking forward to opening another restaurant in place of Pump Restaurant Lounge?

Why is Lisa Vanderpump's West Hollywood restaurant closing?
TMZ reports Pump family announced the sad news of the closure. "It's with heavy hearts that we announce that the lease at Pump Restaurant is expiring, and we will be closing its doors on July 5th, after 10 years of beautiful evenings under our olive trees," they said. The reason for the closing down of the restaurant seems to be the increased rent. After a significant increase in the rent Lisa and her husband Ken Todd refused to commit to paying nearly $1 million for the rent of the restaurant's place. As per the reports, the couple called the figure "ridiculous".
The Pump family refused to take another 10-year lease of the restaurant. They said, "While we have loved our time operating Pump, to take on another 10-year lease with a huge increase in rent by the landlords, is not something we are ready to commit to." After successfully running the restaurant for 37+ years, the sudden increase in the rent seemed "untenable" to the Pump family. Hence, they are shutting down the place.
When will Pump Restaurant Lounge stay open till?
The Pump Restaurant Lounge will stay open through June and will be closed down in the month of July. The Pump family is choosing June to be the closure month for the restaurant because it's Pride Month. Lisa wants "to support the local community with one last hurrah."
Despite Pump Restaurant Lounge's shutdown, Lisa and Ken have other two restaurants which they will be focussing on more from now onward. The couple has Sur and TomTom. The Pump family claims, "We look forward to welcoming you all to TomTom & Sur in the months following! Thank you for the past decade of support, we have loved our staff, our patrons, and our time together."
Pump Restaurant Lounge license suspended
The news of Pump Restaurant Lounge license being suspended surfaced in March. Along with the suspension of the liquor license of the lounge, the news of the suspension of the liquor license of TomTom also came forward. TomTom's liquor license was later reinstated on March 10.
According to People, Pump Resturaunt's license was set to expire until April 30, and "collection suspension" was claimed to be the reason behind it. The restaurant that normally closes on Mondays and Tuesdays was shut down on Saturday and Sunday, claiming "heavy rain" to be the reason.
Lisa along with Ken has opened a Paris-themed restaurant in Las Vegas named Vanderpump a Paris along with a Sin City restaurant named Vanderpump Cocktail Garden.
