Why didn't Da Vinci Eye get $350K deal? 'Shark Tank' fans blame founder for 'talking in circles' regarding sales
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Da Vinci Eye, which premiered in Episode 17 of Season 15 of 'Shark Tank,' shows a level of craftsmanship and demonstrates the revolutionary power that applications bring to the creative sphere and beyond.
However, founder Samuel Gherman was unable to convince any Sharks to invest since, according to fans, "his pitch was all over the place."
The revolutionary potential of mobile applications has transformed many facets of our lives, breaking down old barriers and making the world more accessible.
One significant example is the influence on the art world, as smart art projector mobile apps have arisen, altering how we interact with and produce art.
This not only increases the accessibility of art production, but it also acts as a useful tool for both aspiring and experienced artists. Furthermore, such applications democratize art education by allowing lovers to easily learn and perfect their abilities.
Da Vinci Eye has transformed the art projection environment with its mobile app, which, while maintaining the core principles of a traditional projector, adds unique elements that increase its appeal.
Samuel, the founder and CEO of Da Vinci Eye Company, stepped into the Tank and asked for $350,000 for 5%.
When questioned about his sales, Samuel not only took a long time to respond, but he did it in such a way that the Sharks were even more agitated. His storytelling involved everything but a satisfactory number that could get the Sharks on board.
Daymond John was the first one to tap out since he seemed agitated at the founder's lack of responding in a timely manner. The rest of the Sharks agreed that he needed to "cut to the chase," including Lori Greiner calling it a "very confusing" pitch.
On Reddit, fans felt, Samuel was "What Lori said is the most accurate. That's how I felt his entire pitch." Another person agreed, "Yeah. He sounded like he was trying to hide something lol."
One user wrote, "This is a great product but his pitch was all over the place." A fourth user commented, "Seems like it would be a fun hobby app that could sell, but so confused by this amateur magician pitch."
On X, fans complained, "Stop dragging it out!!!" One fan quipped, "He done pissed him off.@TheSharkDaymond"

'Shark Tank' investors don't find Da Vinci Eye's sales promising
In 2021, Da Vinci Eye made $890,000 in sales. In 2022, they generated $860K in sales.
However, in 2023, they discovered that selling the app once wasn't a viable economic strategy, so they converted to a subscription plan.
So today, it is $19.99 per year for the basic software, AR Art Projector, and it has increased its revenue from the prior year by around one and a half times from its sales last year.
The numbers sure made the investors anything but excited as they questioned the growth rate of the company and how will they make their money.
Who is the founder of Da Vinci Eye?
Samuel is a professional with a varied background. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University in 2010 and began his MBA studies at Hofstra University.
In 2012, Samuel began working in Strategic Marketing and Brand Management at MallStand, demonstrating his dedication to his chosen career. Later, he became Editor-in-Chief of Awesome NJ, a website for college students.
Notably, Samuel has developed a creative side, participating in mentalism since 2004, a love he has pursued alongside his other professional endeavors. Samuel began working at Macy's in 2013 and then founded Da Vinci Eye with Charissa Castillo in 2018.
Where can you buy Da Vinci Eye?
Da Vinci Eye provides customers with three applications that are specifically adapted to their creative demands. Da Vinci Eye's Mural Maker and Doodle Grid are designed specifically for iOS users, giving a smooth and creative experience that is only available on Apple devices.
For those looking for an augmented reality art projector, the Da Vinci Eye: AR Art Projector app is another choice, accessible on both Android and iOS. While the iOS version is free to download, users may improve their experience by upgrading to the premium version for $29.99 each year.
Frequent promotions make sophisticated features available at a discounted rate of $19.99 each year, providing a cost-effective solution. Android users can buy the app for $9.99 per year, ensuring that a wide range of users have access to their tools.
These purchases are not made on a subscription basis, and if one is dissatisfied with the experience, Da Vinci Eye guarantees a swift refund. A phone stand is strongly suggested for enhancing the Da Vinci Eye experience.
This attachment is especially useful while working on a table, as it provides stability for those who want to sketch and use the AR mode. For individuals who enjoy creating murals and bigger artworks, a phone stand with a sturdy clamp provides adaptability and ease.
