Why did 'The View' cut to commercial? Whoopi Goldberg doesn't hold back as she makes NSFW confession on live TV

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg isn’t a person who likes to hold back. ‘The View’ co-hosts are often quite outspoken, especially when it comes to politics and their Hot Topics segments. Off late, Goldberg has been accused of being too quiet on ‘The View’ due to the various controversies surrounding her in comparison to her co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, and Sara Haines. Well, by the looks of it, Goldberg took the criticism seriously because during Thursday’s episode, she did not hold back.

Goldberg may not get involved in politics, but when it comes to topics that she might have a say in, she will make sure she puts her point across. The one cause that Goldberg truly believes in is defending the elderly. The host will be turning 68 in November 2023, and she has made it a point to defend herself, people her age, and those older than her, even if that means crossing the NSFW line on ‘The View'.

‘We know what we’re doing’

The Hot Topics segment truly gets the best of ‘The View’ co-hosts. This time, it was Goldberg’s time to shine. The topic in hand was research about divorce among people who were in their 50s. Soon enough, Goldberg steered the conversation as she said, “You know, this idea that older people don’t know how to get it on, well, how do you think we got here?” At this point, she earned a few laughs from her co-hosts and the live audience. She continued, “We know what we’re doing.”

Everyone seemed thrilled by Goldberg’s comment as Hostin chimed in, “I have a question Whoopi. Do you like…let’s say…” It was taking Hostin a while to form her sentence, and by then, Goldberg had caught on that ‘The View’ was going to cut to a commercial after her discussion as she told Hostin, “Quick quick baby.” Hostin finally gathered herself as she looked at Goldberg and said, “Do you go younger or older?” Goldberg had a huge grin on her face as she swayed a little before answering, “Depends…and I don’t mean the underwear, we’ll be right back.”

Whoopi Goldberg's NSFW confession nowhere on ‘The View’s social media

‘The View’ has an active social media presence, especially on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to cater to all age groups and audiences. Usually, the Hot Topic conversations do make it to these accounts, but Goldberg’s conversation was avoided like the plague. Neither of the social media platforms posted this NSFW conversation. Instead, the focus remained on Supreme Court’s latest ruling on college admissions, welcoming the guests, and Goldberg swooning over Idris Elba for a moment. The clip of Goldberg talking about sex was nowhere to be found.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that ‘The View’ cut to a commercial before Goldberg could finish her conversation with Hostin and answer any further inappropriate questions.
