The first live eviction session of 'Big Brother 2022' recently aired, however, no one was eliminated. On the morning of July 14, it was reported that participant Paloma Aguilar had left the CBS competition, and this was verified during the episode.

We're only four episodes into the new season of 'Big Brother' and the "Backstage Boss" gimmick has already failed because one of the houseguests chose to self-evict. 'Big Brother' Season 24 is one of the most shocking seasons in recent times. Paloma Aguilar walked out of the elimination on Thursday, but not in the way that was expected. Aguilar, a 22-year-old interior designer from California, left the show "due to a personal matter," fans and houseguests learned on the July 14 episode.

Paloma struggled with chronic sleeplessness during her nine days in the 'Big Brother' house and spent time weeping in the bathroom and dealing with her anxiousness, according to recent footage. Paloma ultimately went inside the diary room and never came out. Houseguests were told of her departure via a message from producers, which was read out to them by current Head of Household Daniel Durston. Fans noticed the home remodeler was missing from the live streams early on Wednesday, July 13, and speculated that she was in the upstairs diary room with members of the production.

Fans on social media have come forward to acknowledge her mental health struggles and prayed for her better health. A fan tweeted: "#PalomaAguilar I pray you find peace, comfort, and the necessary healing needed to fight your battle! #BigBrother #bigbrother24 #BB24."

Another person wrote, "Mental health is the most important things to understand and just be there. #PalomaAguilar hope you get better and hope to see you again. #BB24."

Amidst the ongoing slander of Paloma on the internet, a viewer wrote, "I don't care what anyone says, I LOVED Paloma! You're beautiful, sane, and they shafted you because you were coming after a girl they simply wanted to stay in. Love you! #PalomaAguilar."

Prior to her self-eviction, Paloma immediately became a divisive participant owing to her outspoken and frequent criticism of fellow competitor Taylor Hale, a personal stylist from Michigan. Viewers and previous 'Big Brother' competitors expressed their views online over Paloma and other participants' "micro-aggressions" and "bullying" of Taylor. During Thursday's live episode, host Julie Chen Moonves made no mention of the scandal. The presenter notified the participants that the Backstage Twist was ended once the houseguests learned about Paloma's departure." The original plan tonight would not have culminated in a vote and eviction, but instead a battle between one of the two nominees, chosen by the house, and one of the Backstage Pass holders. The loser would have gone home immediately," she informed them.

Paloma received backlash on social media for statements she made about fellow houseguest Taylor, some of which were seen on the Wednesday night episode, including dubbing the personal stylist a "lying b*tch." “Bro, I’ve tried to be compassionate toward her,” she said to the other houseguests. “She’s such a b*tch to me. She has not talked game to any of the girls.”

The San Diego homeowner continued her diatribe over Taylor's unexplainable hate, stating she "can't trust her whatsoever" since "she's not a girls' girl." Palmona had been the one to inform the ladies in the home that they needed to keep an eye on the boys and stay together. “She can be a snake in the garden. She will stab you from the back and make you a turkey club sandwich, OK?” Paloma alerted Monte and his attorney Joseph Abdin.“I see it. I’m a girls’ girl and I love strong women. We play a similar game, but I’m playing it better.”

“Her personality just rubs people the wrong way," she said. Indeed, the self-described "fashion & fitness enthusiast" turned the majority of the house against the Michigan native, with some even calling her "aggressive" and evidently propagating stereotypes. Daniel Durston, the Head of Household, was seen sobbing on the feeds as he was concerned about appearing racist for selecting two Black contestants.

Taylor's mistreatment sparked outrage on social media, prompting past houseguests and all six members of 'Big Brother' 23's historic Cookout alliance to speak out in her favor. “Members of the black community (especially black women) and other people of color stand no chance in the Big Brother House due to perpetuation of microaggressions and unconscious biases which plague our society,” Big Brother winner Xavier Prather posted on Twitter.

“I acknowledge my shortcomings during my time on Big Brother and can’t help but feel partially responsible for some of the reprehensible behavior I see being exhibited by current houseguests who consider me one of their ‘favorites.’ For that, I’d like to apologize for being an accessory to any ongoing issues," Prather added.

On July 14, Chen expressed her opinions with Us Weekly. “I will say that microaggressions are real and they happen every day,” the CBS personality stated.“When they happen, typically the person who is the offender, a lot of times that is not their intention. I will say the Big Brother house is no different. … I think at the end of the day, we are all flawed, and we all need to practice forgiveness and compassion and mercy and grace. And I do feel that when people come out of the house and they see and hear what they did in the house, if they can learn something from it and be humbled by it, then let’s lift each other.”

Taylor, who was on the block alongside bus driver Terrence Higgins, was expected to go home in the first live eviction before Paloma. Paloma, customer service representative Alyssa Snider, and hypnotherapy Brittany Hoopes all had "Backstage Pass." They could not be nominated, but they were also not deemed safe. Due to her departure, the eviction and that week's "Backstage" twist were eventually canceled.

Few fans took Paloma's self-eviction as an opportunity to call out her treatment towards Taylor as well. A fan wrote, "Sorry Paloma Aguilar, but the next time you want to throw Taylor under the bus, maybe *you* should ask Terrance for some tips. Time to smile and wave to us, from your living room (or elsewhere) of course. #BB24."

Another fan wrote how Paloma might have thrown the opportunity on the show by choosing to be racist and treating Taylor badly, "@bb24 #BB24 #PalomaAguilar could have been a cute contestant yet she immediately prove to be an ugly lying racist bigot. @CBSNews @CBSEntDiversity @CBS."

Some also feel Paloma dug herself a hole by going after Taylor. A tweet read, "#Paloma Aguilar from #BigBrother24 let her jealousy dig a hole for Taylor then she fell in it. Get out of here! Self-evicted, evicted, just as long as she’s gone. You will NOT be missed! #BB24@CBSBigBrother remixed the truth to make Taylor look bad. #JusticeForTaylor."

This isn't the first time a 'Big Brother' houseguest has departed for personal or medical reasons. Neil Garcia walked on Day 7 of Season 9 due to undisclosed personal news. Season 8 champion "Evel Dick" Donato left 'BB' 13 early for unclear reasons until he revealed years afterward that he was HIV positive. Megan Lowder just exited Season 19 after dealing with anxiety and PTSD within the house.
