'He shouldn’t have said that': Asmongold defends Grace Van Dien amid FaZe Rain feud
Twitch streamer Asmongold has shown his support for 'Stranger Things' actress Grace Van Dien after she received backlash from FaZe Clan's OG members when she joined as a content creator.
Grace Van Dien is most known for playing Chrissy Cunningham in Season 4 of 'Stranger Things', but she's moving beyond acting to establish herself as a top-tier streamer. She decided to concentrate on streaming after disclosing that she had allegedly been sexually harassed by a producer for a movie project. Later, on May 25, 2023, she joined the gaming and entertainment company, FaZe Clan, as a content creator.

Asmongold backs up Grace Van Dien amid FaZe Rain backlash
Despite negative comments from other members, Twitch streamer and 'World of Warcraft' star Asmongold is showing his support for the actress and is backing up her response. Asmon backed Grace's response and stated that he believed in self-defense.
“So, this is my perspective on this,” he said after watching Grace’s response during a live broadcast amid the ongoing drama. “I believe in self-defense. And if he wants to call her ‘mid,’ and then she makes fun of him for almost overdosing on a stream, I think that’s totally fine.” He further added, “He shouldn’t have said that and made it personal. I’ll take the high road. I’ll stay on the high road, it’s no problem. But if you take the low road, I’ll meet you there.”
However, many other streamers, including Asmongold and Disguised Toast, have shown their support for Grace during the ongoing drama. Disguised Toast publicly backed the actress in a stream where he called out the original members of the team who had objections about Grace joining the company.
What is the controversy?
Grace's inclusion in FaZe Clan caused controversy among other members, specifically from longtime member and co-founder FaZe Rain. Prior to the news being public, Rain actually revealed Grace's participation in the organization on Twitter and later referred to it as a "political move.”
Rain tweeted about her joining the org before it was officially announced. He later insulted her for not knowing what "trick shotting" is, a skill that FaZe was known for. He also allegedly made personal attacks on her appearance and character.
In response to Rain's remarks, Grace brought up his alleged prior drug use in a since-deleted Twitch stream discussing the dispute. “I know that’s what you’re kinda known for, but I know you, Rain, as the person who almost overdosed on a live stream, and I know that you’re better now and I’m really proud of you for that. I am because I grew up with a mom who was heavily into drugs," as per Sportskeeda.
Grace came under criticism online as she specifically brought out this challenging aspect of Rain's life, which infuriated FaZe supporters.
