WHOOPS! Whoopi Goldberg appears to 'fart' on 'The View' and this is not her first gassy gaffe

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The View' Cohost Whoopi Goldberg endured numerous remarks about her awkward on-screen moments. Her latest embarrassing incident happened on Wednesday, March 15 when she loudly passed gas during a live show. The veteran actor is spotted in a video losing her train of thought after the gassy disruption. 

The crowd and Goldberg's co-hosts both laughed out loud as she admitted by saying, "That was gas," to the audience. Many viewers of the program thought the 67-year-old TV host truly farted during the live broadcast. The cringe-worthy incident occurred as she was discussing former President Donald Trump.

What did viewers think happened on the show?

A number of fans immediately called attention to the error on social media, writing: "Wait did Whoopi just fart on national tv #TheView," while others expressed their disgust and bewilderment. Although the host admitted that she did have a moment of gas, there is disagreement among viewers about whether it was a burp or a fart. A user tweeted, "Someone needs to have a sit down conversation with her about her diet." In recent years, incidents like Wednesdays have become routine in the program. Similar moments occurred just weeks ago when viewers reported hearing a flatulent-sounding noise during a conversation on the daytime talk show. Referring to her past awkward moments, a user said, "She constantly pass gas…! #gashag." another user wrote, "She passes hot air on that show every day."

Commentators have argued over whether the host actually farted or it was just a burp. A user claimed, "Wait did Whoopi just fart on national tv #TheView." While one remarked, "Sure did." Another commented, "That was gas."

Just a few weeks ago, a different noise had momentarily frozen the hosts and briefly interrupted the program. This time it was loud gassy noise. The awkward gasp happened while Goldberg was talking about Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election. She casually mentioned that some Trump supporters "still believe that he got, you know, gypped somehow in the election." Her statement was cut off by what appeared to be a burp. She quickly admitted, "That was gas," while placing her hand on her chest, and the co-hosts and crowd immediately burst into laughter.

It happened in January too

The women were just starting to discuss the classified papers that were discovered in former vice president Mike Pence's home when they heard the noise. During a show segment, Sara Haines is seen pointing out a water puddle to Goldberg, which causes Haines to shift her chair, which is when the noise is heard. The 67-year-old can be heard softly saying "umm." as Haines jumps back and says "oop." The moment Haines starts to rapidly move, shifting her chair, the sound breaks. Alyssa Farrah Griffin then turns to co-host Joy Behar while still making an effort to talk coherently about Pence and starts to laugh at the situation. "We had a little spillage on the other side of the table," Griffin states, laughing. "Now it's on my pants," Haines responds. 

And in 2014 

Goldbefg set off trolls in December 2014 for a fart-like sound that erupted in the middle of a hot-topic debate on 'The View', reported Daily Mail. She denied farting back then, saying, "There was a sound effect that we had never heard before". She added, "I know you think that I don't [make jokes] any more, I do, I make funnies. I don't fart on-air for real!"

And in 2011 

In 2011 on 'The View', Goldberg was reportedly farted and she made no effort to conceal it, saying, "Excuse me, I think I just blew a little frog outta there." Claire Danes, the guest on the program, looked obviously clueless about what to do, as per TMZ.
