LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Several elements have contributed to the success of ‘The View’ over the last two decades, and one of those elements is the audience. We aren’t just talking about the people who sit back and relax while watching these co-hosts at home, but those who are physically present during the live taping of the talk show. While it isn’t common, sometimes the co-hosts -- Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro -- tend to interact with the audience members present on the set.

Sometimes this interaction can be about asking the audience to respect a guest or to ask an opinion, but this time around, Goldberg went way off the script which led to a delay in the filming of ‘The View'. As Goldberg walked onto the set with her co-hosts, with the audience applauding for them, she seemed a little distracted by one particular audience member and decided to address it.

Goldberg distracted!

As Goldberg walked onto the sets of 'The View', she suddenly looked distracted and fumbled over her words as she took a seat and said, "Wow! Hello hello, welcome to ‘The View.’ I…I…forgot to say all of that because I looked up and there’s this beautiful kimono in the audience.” At this point, the other co-hosts agreed and Goldberg urged the audience member to stand up for a second.

The unnamed audience member stood up in her spot and bowed to the audience in respect and showed off her beautiful pink kimono. Goldberg was truly taken aback by the audience member and said, “I’ll ask you questions when we go to break.”

At this point, Goldberg realized that the live episode had begun and the co-hosts needed to get on with the segment. Hopefully, both Goldberg and the audience member had a chance to discuss the kimono during the break.

Goldberg’s previous interactions with audience members

While this interaction between Goldberg and the audience member was rather wholesome despite the delay and Goldberg going off-script, it hasn’t always been this way. When Senator Tim Scott made an appearance on ‘The View’ and things got heated, Goldberg was quick to shut the audience down who were booing the guest, as per The Sun.

She said, “Do not boo! This is The View, We accept we don’t have to believe everything people will say, but you cannot boo people here. Please. You cannot do it!”

So, this recent interaction was a change in Goldberg's pace and tone. Well, only time will tell if the audience members will up their wardrobe choices to get noticed by Goldberg moving forward!
