Who was Patrick Stone?
As per TMZ, Patrick was the younger brother of actress Sharon Stone, 64. She posted a brief homage to her brother on Instagram on Monday, February 13 afternoon. She captioned the picture of the two of them in a tight embrace with the words "RIP my brother Patrick Joseph Stone" and a dove emoji.
Patrick's wife Tasha shared the heartbreaking news with friends on Facebook and wrote, "My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest. Patrick went to be with our sweet River ... I don’t know what else to say, he was my world." She continued, "He gave me 3 beautiful children that he loved and adored." She further wrote, "He made sure to make it a point to let me know how much he loved me and how much I meant to him... I knew the very first day that I saw him that I was going to marry him. I felt an immediate connection to him and for 20 years we drove each other absolutely crazy but we also loved each other so deeply. I feel lost without my best friend," as reported by MSN.
Tasha also said that she finds "some comfort in knowing that we had one of the best days full of love" before Patrick died. "What if I am meant to carry the memory of our near-perfect day so that I can smile and feel love when I think of him and he was able to take the memories with him knowing without a shadow of a doubt that he was immensely loved," she wrote. She continued to write, "I don't want to accept that though even if that is the purpose of his passing. I wanted a lifetime with him and even though 20 years is a long time it wasn't enough time. He was my soul mate. We just got each other even at our ugliest."
"I'm not sure what life is supposed to look like without my husband by my side and quite honestly I don't want to, but I will of coarse [sic]," Tasha added. She also wrote, "I just hope that you always stay by my side watching over Hunter, Kaylee, and I."
Tasha went on to say that her late husband "will always hold the biggest piece of my heart." "I love you, honey babe. My wish through all of this is that now at least River has his daddy with him and I hope the two of you are having the best time. Please give him the biggest hug and kiss from all of us and keep him out of mischief," she concluded, adding, "Go hunting and fishing every day. That's where you always felt safest and closest to God. I'm not ready and I don't want to say goodbye. I want to do this life with you. I'll always love you."
Patrick leaves behind his wife Tasha, their children, sister Sharon and their two other siblings -- Michael, and Kelly Stone.
How did River Stone die?
About a week prior to his death, Sharon, 64, first revealed River had experienced severe organ failure, as reported by Page Six. The actress posted a picture of the baby boy laying in a hospital bed connected to a machine along with the caption, "My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib w total organ failure today."
Stone reported a month after River's death that his donated organs had helped save three lives. According to Sharon, her nephew's internal organs were donated to people in need. She said, “The fact that my godson was able to save three lives, two infants and a 45-year-old man, was a sanctuary for our family.” “I can only say that you never, never know when a tragedy will happen in your life or in your family, but this opportunity to be an organ donor, it saved us, saved our family,” she continued, adding, “Many people have many different thoughts about this, but in the end, it gave us some peace.”
