LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The Walking Dead’ is one of the most extraordinary shows of this generation and is responsible for giving sleepless nights to millions of its fans. The series garnered a lot of recognition and praise during its run, making it one of the most critically-acclaimed series of all time. So, it doesn’t come as a shock that AMC has planned to expand the universe with a spin-off series based on two of the most popular characters: Maggie and Negan.

Titled ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’, the series chronicles the journey of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and how they navigate through New York City, which has become a haven for zombies and anarchists.

‘The Walking Dead’ became successful because of its characters and the actors who played these intriguing roles. So, let’s take a look at the cast of the upcoming AMC series.

Who stars in the AMC series ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’?

Lauren Cohan as Maggie

If you are a fan of ‘The Walking Dead’, you already know Lauren Cohan has been one of the main reasons for the show’s gigantic success. She portrayed her character with precision and delivered a performance that was extraordinary in every possible way. Cohan began her acting career in 2005 with a short film and went on to make her feature film debut in the same year with the movie ‘Casanova’. She garnered a lot of success on TV, especially for her role in the series ‘Supernatural’.

However, her life turned upside down when she was cast as Maggie Rhee in ‘The Walking Dead’. She was one of the main cast members of the series and instantly became a fan favorite. Maggie appeared in 106 episodes and won several awards for the role. ‘Death Race 2’, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, and ‘The Mindy Project’ are some of the other high-end titles she appeared on.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan

Morgan is another actor who needs little introduction, especially to ‘The Walking Dead’ fans. The actor first appeared on the show in Season 7 and it didn’t take much time for his character to become one of the most-hated characters on TV. Morgan was brilliant in making people realize how people will react if they get power in a world that is already turned pretty rotten.

Morgan started his acting career in 1991 and played supporting roles in several movies. Just like Cohan, he also received a lot of attention when he started appearing on TV shows like 'Supernatural'. But when he became a part of ‘The Walking Dead’ series, his fame skyrocketed. Several critics called his acting extraordinary and labeled him as one of the most amazing characters in the entire franchise. Therefore, It doesn’t come as a shock that makers decided to focus on Negan in the upcoming series.

Other actors to feature in the series include Gaius Charles (Perlie Armstrong), Zeljko Ivanek (The Croat), Jonathan Higginbotham (Tommaso), Mahina Napoleon (Ginny), Trey Santiago-Hudson (Jano), and Michael Anthony (Luther).

'The Walking Dead: Dead City' premieres exclusively on AMC on Sunday, June 18, at 10 pm EST.
