Who stabbed Drakeo The Ruler? Rapper dies after attack at Once Upon a Time in LA concert
Yet another music festival has turned chaotic after the 'Astroworld' debacle. Hip hop-focused festival Once Upon a Time in LA has ended on a tragic note after troubled rapper Drakeo The Ruler was fatally stabbed in the neck. The stabbing incident left the 28-year-old rapper "badly injured" and he succumbed to his injuries.
The news of Drakeo's stabbing was first revealed via a tweet on DJ Letty's page. "Drakeo just got stabbed in the neck at once upon a time," read his tweet. This was backed by PEOPLE reporter Tomás Mier confirming that the embattled rapper indeed was the victim of a stabbing incident and LA police shut the festival down despite the initial decision for the show to progress despite the chaos. "At 8:39 pm, authorities received a call that Drakeo the Rapper had been stabbed at the festival. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, according to LAFD," Mier tweeted.

There’s an area behind the stage at MLK Blvd and Hoover St (where the stabbing occurred) that is cordoned off for the police investigation.

It appears that the festival is set to go on, just without Snoop, who was a headliner/organizer. He left right after the stabbing.

Mier's follow-up tweet read, "There’s an area behind the stage at MLK Blvd and Hoover St (where the stabbing occurred) that is cordoned off for the police investigation. It appears that the festival is set to go on, just without Snoop, who was a headliner/organizer. He left right after the stabbing." As for who stabbed Drakeo, the matter is still under investigation and there are no updates as of yet as this is a developing story. The rapper has been on the wrong side of the law for years. In August this year, he was arrested by the LAPD in the presence of his young son.
According to the PD, he was arrested at 12 pm on August 22 on the charge of "excon with a gun" and his bail was set at $35,000. He documented being pulled over in an Instagram live which was later deleted. In 2018, he was indicted on felony charges in LA for an incident related to a 2016 murder. Charges included murder and conspiracy to commit murder for which he was acquitted in July 2019 but the jury convicted him on possessing firearms. In September that year, the DA's office refiled two charges from the 2016 case that the jury was on the fence about: shooting from a motor vehicle and a criminal gang conspiracy charge. He waited for his trial in jail until November 4, 2020, when he was released after accepting a plea bargain.
Social media is buzzing with reactions related to the incident and certain fans are claiming to have heard the worse in this situation. "Prayers for Drakeo! I'm hearing he passed but I just can't believe that," a tweet read. "This lil boy just told me Drakeo the ruler died. Say it ant so," tweeted another. However, Adam Grandmaison better known as Adam22 from NoJumper podcast tweeted, "We are hearing that he’s in critical condition. Any rumors that he’s passed away are false at this time." Adam confirmed Drakeo died through a tweet sent on Sunday morning.
