Who is Tokata Iron Eyes? Teen's family claims Ezra Miller has 'taken control of her'
Actor Ezra Miller has been accused of displaying "cult-like" behavior toward a teen activist and plying her with alcohol, LSD and marijuana. The alleged victim, Tokata Iron Eyes, 18, reportedly met Miller, 29, when she was 12. At the time, the then 23-year-old Miller visited their reservation in North Dakota.
Tokata's parents said that Miller and their daughter developed a friendship and that he even flew her to London to visit the 'Fantastic Beasts' studio two years later. In a lawsuit, the parents have claimed that Miller, who identifies as non-binary and queer and uses the pronouns they/them, supplied drugs and alcohol to their underage daughter. They have also alleged that Tokata dropped out of school in December after Miller disrupted her Massachusetts private schooling. People reported that the actor displayed "cult-like psychological manipulation" and had "controlling behavior", according to her parents.

Who is Tokata Iron Eyes?
Tokata Iron Eyes is an activist and member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. She was previously a youth leader of 'Rezpect Our Water', a campaign against the proposed route of the Dakota Access Pipeline. She has served on the board of a new sustainable energy group named 'Indigenized Energy'.
Tokata is the daughter of Chase Iron Eyes, an activist, attorney, and politician. her mother, Dr Sara Jumping Eagle, is a pediatrician and environmental activist. Tokata attends Bard College at Simon’s Rock, and is also a singer and songwriter.
Tokata started her activism at the age of nine after she testified against a uranium mine in the Black Hills. She met youth climate activist Greta Thunberg at George Washington University in 2019, and the two hosted a series of rallies about climate change and the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline.
Tokata was featured on Disney+ in an episode of 'Marvel's Hero Project' and 'Thrilling Tokata' in January 2020. In May of the same year, she was named one of the Ms. Foundation’s 2020 Women of Vision. She was given the Peggy C. Charren Free to Be You and Me Award.
'Ezra uses violence'
Tokata's parents said in the lawsuit, "Ezra uses violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs to hold sway over a young adolescent Tokata." They have urged the court to issue an order of protection against Miller on behalf Tokata, and a hearing is set for next month.
The parents claimed that they found bruises on Tokata's body when they went to Miller's home in Vermont in January to retrieve her after she dropped out. They also found that she did not have her driving license, car keys or a bank card with her. Despite being brought back to her parents' home, Tokata fled to New York again to meet Miller. The two have since been traveling together to Vermont, Hawaii and Los Angeles.
Tokata Iron Eyes denies allegations against Ezra Miller
In a statement on social media two days ago, Tokata dismissed her parents' claims. "I'd like to make a statement to acknowledge the tragedy that is the narrative of the general public and the assumptions made on my behalf by my family and friends regarding my stability and otherwise," she wrote. "I dropped out of bard five months ago, my friend and comrade William passed shortly there after, my mind was incredibly impacted and I've needed space and time for the processing of grief. My comrade Ezra Miller for the entirety of the aforementioned era has only provided loving support and invaluable protection throughout this period of loss."
This is not Miller's first run-in with the law. In June 2011, while shooting 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', police caught Miller with 20 grams of marijuana when a passenger vehicle he was in pulled over in Pittsburgh for a broken brake light. Miller was initially charged with drug possession, but a judge later dropped it. They faced a penalty of $600 for two citations of disorderly conduct instead. Miller later said, "I don't feel like there's any need to hide the fact that I smoke pot. It's a harmless herbal substance that increases sensory appreciation."
In April 2020, a viral video posted on social media showed Miller choking a woman and throwing her to the ground. The incident reportedly took place at Prikið Kaffihús, a bar in Reykjavik.
