LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA : On Friday, April, 7, 2023, Simu Liu announced the release of his new single titled 'Don't' through a post on his Instagram account. The 33-year-old actor shared the record's cover art, a sneak peek of the track, and two promotional photos. In his post's caption, he elaborated on the themes of the song.

Liu, who starred in 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', recently supported a small restaurant in Canada. Liu wrote: "This song was written for all of the hard times in my life where i have questioned my worth and felt like an imposter." He added: "It is for every single person who has ever felt alone, different, heartbroken, or hopeless. You are worthy. you belong. you MATTER."

Announcing his new single 'Don't'

Actor Simu Liu announced the release of his new single titled 'Don't' on Instagram, where he shared the record's cover art and a snippet of the track, as well as promotional photos. The song's chorus aims to inspire listeners to push through tough times, with lyrics such as, "Don't give up when you're halfway down the road/There's so much more inside you than you know."

Liu had previously contributed vocals to the track 'Hot Soup' on the soundtrack album for 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings'. He recently performed a medley of Avril Lavigne songs at the Juno Awards and showcased his musical skills in a video singing "Look At Us Now (Honeycomb) from the soundtrack of 'Daisy Jones & The Six."



 

Who is Simu Liu?

Liu is a Canadian actor and producer. He is best known for his role as Jung in the CBC Television sitcom 'Kim's Convenience' and as the titular character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings'. He has also appeared in  several other TV shows and movies. Liu is also a skilled martial artist, having trained in various disciplines, including taekwondo, hapkido, and wushu.



 

While Liu has been making progress in his music career, he is also set to star in the upcoming action-comedy film, 'Grand Death Lotto'. Liu was announced to have joined the movie's cast in March, alongside actors John Cena and Awkwafina. The film, directed by Paul Feig, tells the story of a woman who is in possession of a winning lottery ticket and must protect herself against attacks to claim her winnings. No release date for the film Grand Death Lotto has been announced yet.
