Sally Field's 2018 'defense' of Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump 'a c**t' resurfaces
Shortly after comedian Samantha Bee issued an apology in 2018 for having called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c**t,” actress Sally Field took to Twitter to defend Bee saying that the slur was inappropriate, but for an entirely different reason. “I like Samantha Bee a lot, but she is flat wrong to call Ivanka a c**t,” the Oscar-winning actress wrote. “C**ts are powerful, beautiful, nurturing, and honest". Field's pun fluttered the social media. Many of the liberals in the entertainment and media industry were in approval of Field's wittiness. However, many of them were critical of it, calling it a "disgrace".
Years after the quip created a stir on social media, the tweet went viral yet again. Liberals and left-wingers have been supporting Field's response to Bee's statement. Whereas, many have disapproved of Field's comment and have disregarded it. In support of Field, a user wrote, "Sally Field just went and pulled a Norma Rae on Ivanka and then straight mic dropped. That is savage. That is beast mode." Another user wrote, "Love her, but This is 2018. Not sure why it's trending now, but it is still just as true and it is just as awesome."

On the other hand, there were many who took Twitter to disapprove of Field's remark on Ivanka Trump. "She sounds like filth", a user wrote in response to Field's tweet. Another user wrote, "Ivanka has more brains and beauty than you. More class, as well." "She is beautiful and you are not even pretty", another user wrote. One user wrote,"I once watched your movies. But no more your a disgrace. By you definition, your definitely not a c- my." "Well you just broke my heart. I thought you were an intelligent, compassionate and thoughtful lady. How wrong I was. #shameon@sally_field", a user wrote slamming Field.

Who is Samantha Bee and what did she say?
Samantha Bee is a Canadian-American comedienne, political commentator, and TV Host. She is currently the host of her show 'Full Frontal with Samantha Bee' which streams on the TBS network. The controversy goes back to 2018 when Bee on her late-night show Full Frontal on TBS, went after Ivanka Trump for failing to oppose her father’s immigration policy, which separates children from their families, eventually calling her a “feckless c**t.”
“You know, Ivanka, that’s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad’s immigration practices you feckless c**t!” Bee said at the end of a segment about the Trump administration’s policy of separating immigrant children from their parents at the border. “He listens to you,” Bee continued. “Put on something tight and low-cut and tell your father to fucking stop it?” Soon after Bee's statement over Ivanka Trump, she released an apology to Ivanka Trump after she received a huge backlash from people especially White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and political commentator Megyn Kelly.
“I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable,” Bee said in a statement. “I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it.” Following Bee's statement, TBS wrote, “Samantha Bee has taken the right action in apologizing for the vile and inappropriate language she used about Ivanka Trump last night. Those words should not have been aired. It was our mistake too, and we regret it.”

Sanders slammed Bee and said, "The language used by Samantha Bee last night is vile and vicious. The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling". “Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network", she added.
Kelly slammed Bee on Twitter and wrote, "This is disgusting. How is this acceptable? And how are we expected to take any of these publications seriously if they gleefully repost something like this at the same time they (rightfully) condemn @therealroseanne? You know the saying Love is Love? Well Hate is Hate."
