SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: Golf influencer Paige Spiranac and Phil Mickelson got into a scuffle after the LIV Golf star slandered fellow golf player Sam Ryder's wardrobe choices. Ryder, who competed in the Farmers Insurance Open last week, chose to play the tournament while wearing a maroon pair of sweatpants, exposing his ankles and eventually disappointing Phil.
Phil, who is 19 years senior to Ryder, wasn't happy about the 33-year-old's wardrobe for the tournament. "The Tour doesn't allow shorts but does allow this week's leader to wear joggers with ankle socks?" Phil tweeted on Saturday, January 28. "Showing 4 inches of ankle? I'm no fashion guy, never will be, but there are some things I won't ever understand." After a week, Spiranac learned of Phil's displeasure with Ryder's attire. She slammed the three-time Masters winner because she disagreed with Phil's sense of style. "He was showing maybe like an inch of ankle, they weren't super tight, I thought he looked good. But it just shows how incredibly frustrating golf Twitter can be that they were so bothered by Sam Ryder wearing joggers," she noted on her 'Playing a Round' podcast.

Spiranac added, "Also, if Phil thinks that's four inches, I feel sorry for his wife." She acknowledged that Phil had blocked her, so she wasn't able to see the tweet for herself. Subsequently, Phil tweeted in response to Spiranac's remarks, "Ma'am, we are speaking guy talk. This isn't directed to you." She slammed back, "Sums up my life in the golf industry lol," in response.

Who is Phil Mickelson's wife?
The golfer Phil Mickelson is married to Amy Mickelson, formerly Amy McBride, whom he first met in 1992 while they were both students at Arizona State University. After dating for a few years, they got married on November 16, 1996, and currently have three children together.
