A Canada-born alternative rights political activist, as well as a YouTuber, has received a lot of criticism online after she apparently made a transphobic comment against a transgender twitch streamer. Reportedly, Lauren Southern told the twitch streamer, who goes by the name Keffals on Twitter, that she won’t be “a woman”.

In her now-deleted tweet to Keffals, Southern had reportedly said, “Ratios won’t make you a woman :-).” This reportedly came after Keffals had called out another twitch streamer Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, also famous online as Destiny, on Twitter by writing, “hey steven i just took away your primary source of income please leave me alone and stop bullying trans people for content,” and Southern had replied below that, “Oh wow trans advocates censoring and destroying the income of people who slightly disagree with them? Wow this sure is making me love the online trans community more! Wonderful activism.”

After Southern’s alleged derogatory tweet, a lot of people slammed her with one saying, “Keffals is more of a woman than you'll ever be I think it was you who said that women lose their value as they get older... time is ticking for you, Lauren.  You know you don't live up to your own standards.” Another one wrote, “Lauren I cannot overstate how pathetic it is that you consider ‘haha trans women aren’t women’ a banger tweet, that’s like some level 0 transphobia. I know you know you can do better.”

After the backlash, Southern, who has over 140k followers on Instagram, tried to defend herself by stating, “You missed the point. Those who engage in censorship and destroying peoples incomes because they had a brief disagreement over trans issues are weaponizing their insecurity about their gender identity. No amount of censorship, crybullying or ratios will make them feel better.” She also added: “Deleted a banger of a tweet to survive the mass report. Will live to fight another day. Enjoy this time with all the censorship power while you can 😊 we all know it won’t last forever x.”

But her justification clearly did not work as a critic tweeted, “It's funny how they refer to you calling out their transphobic bullshit as censorship And a bit worrying because that means they don't know what censorship means…” “it's so fun to ratio people into getting mad and watching them almost sacrifice their own account because they can't let a transsexual own them,” Keffals noted.

A user said, “Honestly so embarrassing that these people literally think that posting ‘lol ur not a woman’ is a banger tweet.” Another one wrote, “transphobes need to find a hobby besides being transphobic…” “When righties control the megacorpoations, they won’t apologize for the terror,” the third one added.

A person advised Southern, “Lauren, follow the advice of professionals.  4 out of 5 shitposters agree logging off as a means to prevent being ratioed (again).” The second one mentioned: “You're a dumbass who glanced at it and immediately joined one side cause they're transphobic like you.” “Bruh, whether that's true or not that's still no excuse to disrespect someone's identity. That's like calling a black person an n word because they did something immoral. Then again, you do seem like the kind of person that would have no problem with that either,” a tweet read.
