Who is Colin Jamieson? Meet 'American Idol' contestant from Boxford whose former band performed with Kesha
Bestfriends Colin Jamieson and Danny Falco appeared on the final audition episode of 'American Idol' that aired on Sunday, March 14. The two met each other when he, alng with other membes from across New England, were hand-picked to feature on a boyband called 'Kik-It'.
The band saw many members come and go over the years but Colin and Danny remained good friends through it all. They were even a part of the opening act for performing artists like Victoria Justice and Kesha. Though the band no longer exists, their bond survived over the years and brought them from San Diego to the auditions in Los Angeles in October 2020.
Danny Falco was rejected by all three judges. Colin auditioned with certain technical issues with his performance that Katy Perry and Luke Bryan pointed out, but his superstar attitude is what helped him get three yeses and a golden ticket with which he advanced to the Hollywood round. The Idol Padalso revealed that Colin Jamieson has made it to the Top 24 lineup.

Apart from singing, Colin also plays the piano and a guitar. The 22-year-old from Bedford is a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School and he attended the North Shore Community College in Danvers. Colin, a wedding singer by profession, has performed at a number of venues locally. However, his focus lately has been Martha's Vineyard and Florida with his company Jerry Bennett Entertainment.
Colin also inherited the athletic gene from his aunt Martha Jamieson who excelled in basketball, softball, and soccer before becoming a Division 1 college softball player at UMass/Amherst and is considered one of the greatest softball players in Lynn. Colin has played intramural basketball, soccer, and football in middle school. However, he chose to focus on singing and put his athletic career on the backburner.
Colin sang Billie Eilish's 'Six Feet Under' for the 'Idol' judges. Even though Katy and Bryan raised a few concerns about his gasping and breathy delivery, Colin managed to walk out of the audition room with the golden ticket.
