Admitting you are a fan of someone famous in front of megastars is not an easy feat. However, two teenagers from California were seen doing just that on Sunday, March 14, night's 'American Idol'. Ava August and Live Grace Blue made an appearance on the final audition episode from Season 19 that aired on March 14 and the superfans left the audition room with a golden ticket after wowing all three judges including Katy with their voice.

The first one in was Liv who in a video package said, "Katy Perry is my icon. I love her," and once in front of the judges she immediately confessed her love for the pop singer.

Ava, on the other hand, spoke about Katy's movie 'The Part of Me' which inspired her to write her first song. Liv auditioned with Katy's song 'I Kissed a Girl' while adding her own spin on it while Ava chose an original song to audition with called 'I'm Fallin'.

It was clear that the 15-year-old Ava and 17-year-old Liv had the right vocal chops and the ability to stand in the competition based on pure talent. Often, fans come in to audition along with crazy stories thinking that it would be enough to carry them ahead in the competition.

These teenagers brought the stories, for instance, Ava attended Katy's first concert as a nine-year-old in a banana costume. But it was their gifted voices with which they powerfully expressed their song of choice that helped them secure a spot in the Hollywood round.

"I see a little bit of myself in you," was probably one of the biggest compliments that Liv might have received in her life and she couldn't help her tears from falling as it was Katy herself who doled out the comment to her. "You got an old soul sound that comes out very fresh," Lionel Richie told Ava before she left the room with her ticket.
