HAMPTON, VIRGINIA: Fox News anchor Julie Banderas announced that she was getting a divorce from her husband on air on Valentine's Day. Following this news, it has been revealed that the news anchor's soon-to-be ex-husband, Andrew Sansone, was arrested back in 2022 after he held a steak knife to her throat in a heated argument over mashed potatoes.
The incident took place on December 14, 2022, in their house in Hampton, and Sansone was charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, according to documents filed in the city court of Southampton. Sansone got furious when his anchor wife ate the mashed potatoes he had prepared for their kids, according to multiple media reports. According to Banderas' statement to the police, Sansone grabbed a knife from the kitchen and pointed the blade at her neck, causing her to fear for her life. Fortunately, their three children were not present during the incident.

The couple was arguing about money as the two battled over their pending divorce and child custody issues, when the argument escalated and Sansone reached his breaking point when he saw Banderas eating the mashed potatoes, according to a report by DailyMail. The publication also reported that, following the incident, a judge granted a restraining order prohibiting Sansone from having further contact with his wife. However, he retains the right to visit the children, through curbside pickups.
Who is Andrew Sansone?
Andrew Sansone, Julie Banderas' husband, is a financial advisor at Allied Wealth Partners. He is a former board member of Habitat for Humanity of New Jersey, and he also helped co-found Tourism Media Services in New York and San Francisco. He also worked as a business consultant with Hero Media Group and was the owner of Old Rock Media from 2003 until 2014.
Sansone earned his bachelor's degree in business management and economics from the State University of New York. He also received the Jack Langdon New Advisor of the Year Award in 2016.

Banderas announced that she was engaged to Sansone in September 2008 during an episode of 'America's Election Headquarters'. Then, the couple tied the knot in August 2009 at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. They share three children: Addison Melissa, Avery Julie, and Harrison. The news anchor even took a break in 2018 to spend time with her family.
