Joseph 'Jo Mersa' Marley, the grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley, has reportedly died at the age of 31. The Jamaican American reggae artist was found unresponsive in a vehicle, according to journalist Abka Fitz-Henley. Joseph's cause of death has not been revealed yet. 

"Jamaican/American Artiste, Joseph Marley, who's also known as Jo Mersa (@JoMersaMarley), was found dead today in the USA. Marley was found unresponsive in a vehicle. Marley is the son of Reggae Star Stephen Marley & the grandson of reggae legend, Bob Marley," Fitz-Henley tweeted. Here's a look at the reggae legend's children and grandchildren.

Bob Marley's children

Bob reportedly had 11 children with seven different women.

Sharon Marley

Sharon is the eldest child and a long-time member of 'The Melody Makers'. She was born in 1964 to Bob's wife Rita Marley, and was adopted by Bob when he married Rita in 1966. Sharon, a singer, dancer, and curator, is involved in the arts like her father.

Cedella Marley

Cedella was born to Bob and Rita in 1967. She was a singer who was part of 'Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers'. She manages many of her family's ventures. According to her website, she is the owner and designer of a women’s casualwear brand 'Catch A Fire', the CEO of 'Tuff Gong International' and director of 'The Bob Marley Foundation'. She is involved in running 'Hope Road Merchandising, LLC' and 'House of Marley'. Cedella is the author of various children's books.

Ziggy Marley

Born in 1968, Ziggy as the lead vocalist in 'Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers'. He has as many as eight Grammy awards to his name. His first album, released back in 2003, is titled 'Dragonfly'. Other notable albums include 'Love Is a Religion', 'Family Time', 'Wild and Free' and 'Fly Rasta'. He also has a self-titled album.

Stephen Marley

Stephen Marley, late Joseph's father, is a Jamaican-American musician, is an eight-time Grammy Award winner. He composed and produced all the songs of some of his self-produced solo albums, including 'Mind Control' (2007), 'Mind Control Acoustic' (2008), 'Revelation Part I: The Root of Life' (2011), and 'Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life' (2016). Stephen reportedly lives in Miami, Florida. He started his professional singing career when he was seven years old, joining siblings Ziggy, Sharon, and Cedella in their group called The Melody Makers.

Robbie Marley

Robbie was born to Bob and Pat Williams in 1972. He was notably documented going on a trip to Africa with his brothers Ziggy and Rohan in 2011 for a film named 'Marley Africa Roadtrip'. He appeared in the 2012 documentary, 'MARLEY'. In a 2012 interview, he opened up about how being Bob's son made him a better person. “It benefits, but at the same time… It benefits. There’s no negative in that. It always helps you to become a better person, because if I wasn’t the son of [Bob Marley], then I could do bad things,” he told Collider.

Rohan Marley

Rohan Marley is a musician, a former professional American football player, and an entrepreneur. He founded the Tuff Gong clothing line and the Marley Coffee business. He was born to Bob and and Janet Hunt in 1972. In 2020, Rohan's daughter Selah called him and her mother Lauryn Hill out in an online video for arguing in front of her, and also using physical means to punish her. Rohan later publicly apologized to Selah.

Karen Marley

Karen Marley has lived her life out of the public eye for the most part, but eventually became a fashion designer who creates eco-friendly clothing with her brand named 'By Karen Marley'. She was born to Bob and Janet Bowen in 1973. Karen resides in England at present.

Stephanie Marley

Stephanie Marley was born to Bob and Rita Marley in 1974. While she mostly lives a private life, it is said she worked at B’Unik Modeling Talent Agency in 2015. She was reportedly given the task to turn their business around. “We have been networking with ad agencies and production teams to get our company in the know. We still have to work on increased publicity; however, the response has been good as we have made it easier for agencies to locate and identify children with talent,” she told the Jamaica Observer in 2015.

Julian Marley

Julian Marley is a musician who has collaborated with his siblings throughout his career. Born to Bob and Lucy Pounder in 1975, he is a musician, songwriter, producer, and humanitarian. His notable albums include 'Lion In The Morning', 'A Time & Place', 'Awake', and 'As I Am'. He said he does not feel pressured to be as famous as his father in a 2020 interview. “You can’t do twice as much; you have to do what you can do,” he told The Guardian Life. “You have to do what you are supposed to do, cuz everyone has a mission. Everyone has something to do. I don’t think of it like that.”

Ky-Mani Marley

Ky-Mani Marley is a successful musician who was born in 1976 to Bob and Anite Belnavis. He received one Grammy nomination. Ky-Mani has recorded various albums, including 'Like Father Like Son', 'Radio', 'The Journey', and 'Maestro'.

Damian Marley

Damian Marley is a jazz musician who has won four Grammy Awards as a reggae artist. Also a DJ and a rapper, Damian was born to Bob and Cindy Breakspeare. He released his first album titled 'Mr. Marley', in honor of Bob, in 1996. “Our father is really a part of our everyday life, to tell you the truth, with the lessons and the morals and the example that he set carries us through everything that we do,” he told OkPlayer in 2019. “So it is great to see, on his birthday, so many other people celebrate him. But we celebrate him every day.”

Bob Marley's grandchildren

Bob’s legacy has continued to live on after his death from cancer in 1981. Bob reportedly has 20-plus grandchildren. Sharon Marley has four children -- Donisha Rita Claire Prendergast, Inglemar Marley, Peter-Shane Marley and Matthew Marley. Cedella Marley's two children are Skip Marley Minto and Soul-Rebel Marley Minto.

Ziggy Marley's children include Bambaata Marley, Zuri Marley, Justice Marley, Judah Victoria Marley, Abraham Selassie Robert Nesta Marley, Gideon Robert Nesta Marley and Isaiah Sion Robert Nesta Marley.

Stephen Marley reportedly has at least 11 children, most of who are musicians. His children include Joseph Mersa "Jo Mersa" Marley, Zipporah Marley, Yohan Marley, Lailah Marley, Shacia Marley, Binghi Marley, Nyah Marley, Summer Marley, Mystic Marley, Sasha Marley and Jeremiah Marley.

Rohan Marley's children include Selah Louise Marley, Zion David Marley, Sarah Marley, Joshua Omaru Marley, John Nesta Marley, Nico Marley, Eden Marley and Maria Fialho Marley. Julian Marley's 11-year-old daughter, Caveri Marley, tragically died after battling cancer. Ky-Mani Marley has a son named KJ Marley. Christian Marley and Elijah Marley are the children of Damian Marley.
