NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'CBS Mornings' has had a consistent team of three appointed co-hosts that includes Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson. As we stand in the middle of summer, talk shows resort to going on breaks, with the crew and hosts readying themselves for a much-needed vacation.

While the hosts of the morning show cannot have a formal hiatus as its part of CBS's regular news reporting, each of the hosts is taking time out from the show to spend with their families and loved ones. Dokoupil has been away from the show for over a week while Natalie Morales fills in for him. In the last episode, Burleson was also nowhere to be found and the reason for his absence is unclear.

Where was Nate Burleson?

Burleson, as a former NFL player, has a lot going on consistently within and besides CBS. While he is hosting the morning show alongside King and Dokoupil, he is also manning the Super Fan which is set to premiere in a week. He also works for Nickelodeon where he takes over hosting projects for sports coverage, similar to his work at CBS.

While it is not confirmed yet, Burleson seems to have taken time off to attend a football game. In a story posted by their official account, the Minnesota Vikings team shared a photo of Burleson on the grounds with Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson. His wife Atoya Burleson also attended the game with him.

Ed O' Keefe comes in to save the day

The political correspondent at CBS News Ed O' Keefe stepped in to take over Burleson's seat next to King and Morales. He is one of the hosts who have only recently joined the network, his year of joining being 2018, after having worked at the Washington Post for over a decade.

O' Keefe shared a photo with his fellow hosts for the day in the excitement of doing a new gig on CBS. The photo showed the three hosts sharing the table together and the caption read, "Heckuva way to start a Wednesday — alongside total pros @gayleking and @nataliemoralestv on @cbsmornings."
