Former ‘Masked Singer’ contestant to return for Spice Girls Night but with a twist — what fans can expect
Since 'The Masked Singer' Season 14 premiered at 8 pm ET on January 7 on Fox, it has been a weekly fixture on Wednesdays. The latest season of the reality singing competition also brought back Nick Cannon as the host, and Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora as the panelists. After airing new episodes for six consecutive weeks, the show is taking a break on February 18 and will return next week on February 25 with the Spice Girls Night episode.
As per the preview, this season's contestant, Taraji P. Henson, will return as a guest panelist for the Spice Girls Night episode. She joined Season 14 as Scarab and was eliminated in episode 3, which aired on January 21. The contestants aren't the only ones channeling their inner Spice Girls as the panelists also join in on the fun. Henson is dressed as Scary Spice (Mel B), Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg as Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), Rita Ora as Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham), and Robin Thicke as Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell). Ken Jeong, in a leopard-print jumpsuit, is dressed as Old Spice.
Out of the 18 Masked contestants from Season 14, Tiffany Haddish (Le Who Who), Billy Ray Cyrus (Owl), David 'Big Papi' Ortiz (Googly Eyes), Claudia Oshry (Queen Corgi), Taraji P. Henson (Scarab), Teddi Mellencamp (Calla Lily), Tone Loc (Handyman), and Todd and Julie Chrisley (Croissants), have been unmasked so far. The remaining 10 contestants are Cat Witch, Galaxy Girl, 14 Karat Carrot, Crane, High Voltage, Eggplant, Pangolin, Snow Cone, Pugcasso, and Stingray. But only Snow Cone, Crane, and Pugcasso will take the stage next week to perform iconic songs from the group. Snowcone will sing 'Wannabe,' Crane will sing 'Say You’ll Be There,' and Pugcasso will sing 'Too Much. '
Other themed episodes from 'The Masked Singer' Season 14 include tributes to 'Star Trek,' the ‘90s rom-com 'Clueless,' and popular film franchises like 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and the 'Twilight Saga.' Also, 'Ozzfest Night' is set to pay homage to the late rocker, Ozzy Osbourne, and will feature a special tribute from his daughter, 'Masked Singer' Season 2 alum Kelly Osbourne.
FOX had earlier planned to air the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Night' episode from Season 14 in this week's timeslot. However, the network is now airing 'The Real Full Monty,' a television special in which six male celebrities, including James Van Der Beek, stripped to raise money for cancer charities. Originally aired on December 9, 2024, the special is being aired again in honor of Van Der Beek, who passed away last week on February 11 from colorectal cancer.
