What to expect from 'The Golden Bachelor' Episode 6?
Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner places a high value on hometown dates and in the sneak peek of the episode confessed, "The last time I met [the] family of someone that I was about to fall in love with was in 1968."
He also stated, "I’m really excited about it because family is very important to me," showing his caring side.
While viewers of 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette' have seen various hometowns over the years, Gerry teased that his dates will "look a lot different from someone who's in their 20s and 30s" since he will "be meeting the children instead of meeting the parents."
In the sneak peek, after Gerry arrived at the airport and boarded a plane to his first hometown, he admitted that the coming week would be "critical" in his quest to find new love.
"I have three women left. I have Faith, I have Leslie and I have Theresa — and they all have said that they’re falling in love with me," said the bachelor, adding, "But it’s been so long since I first felt those feelings with my wife, so I’m in uncharted waters here."
Although his feelings for his final three ladies "are strong," Gerry emphasizes, "I only want to say ‘I love you’ to one more person in my lifetime. So, I hope I’m able to sort my feelings out and do the right thing."
What happened in 'The Golden Bachelor' Episode 5?
'The Golden Bachelor' Episode 5 began on a cheerful note, with the six surviving ladies shouting and dancing in the pool. Ellen Goltzer observed that her relationship with Gerry is "more than she could have imagined," but Faith Martin remains concerned about her lack of one-on-one contact with him.
Tensions rose when Jesse Palmer stepped in to announce that Gerry would only be having three hometown dates instead of the typical four.
Faith felt relieved as she was the lucky recipient of the final one-on-one date with Gerry and he picked her up for their big day.
They were in for a fantastic day that started with an amazing helicopter ride. In classic Bachelor Nation style, they flew above the house while the other ladies watched.
After sharing a sweet kiss, Faith exclaimed that Gerry "made her feel important."
During their date, Gerry got to learn more about Faith, especially as she revealed that she grew up in a non-traditional family without a mother or father, confessing that as a result of this, she frequently felt "not whole" and noticed a lot of dysfunction in her life.
Gerry, being the fantastic guy that he is, noted that he is "intrigued by Faith as a person" and handed her the rose, which gave her the opportunity to be the Golden Bachelor's first hometown date.
The episode also contained Gerry's final group date, and he certainly went all out for it.
Gerry took Theresa Nist, Leslie Fhima, Ellen, Sandra Mason, and Susan Noles to an amusement park for the night, making the ladies participate in carnival-themed games.
After spending time with the entire group, the women drew Gerry aside for some one-on-one time to talk a bit about their feelings. Theresa confessed her love to Gerry and noted that he wished for him to visit her family.
Sandra acknowledged that she had been alone for 29 years, while Susan was concerned if Gerry would select her as a hometown. Moreover, the Golden Bachelor remarked on his and Leslie's "nice progression," while he and Ellen enjoyed a private roller coaster ride.
Gerry cries up at the end of the night and explains that he is not yet ready to hand out the group date rose. Gerry argues that he needs another day to gain clarity since this is the most important decision he has ever had to make. The ladies understand, but they are naturally dissatisfied.
During the penultimate rose ceremony before his hometowns, Gerry was left with two roses, making the ladies tensed about his decision. Theresa was worried about Gerry not meeting her family, and Ellen believed she spilled the beans on the group date.
Gerry stepped in and complimented the women on their appearance, before admitting that he had a restless night pondering what he was going to do.
Leslie is relieved when she receives the first rose of the evening, as Theresa confesses that she "came for love and found it" in a confessional, and she went on to win the last rose, much to everyone's astonishment.
Unfortunately, this meant that Ellen, Sandra, and Susan would have to return home, and Gerry seemed to have a tough time saying goodbye to Ellen.
He requested to walk her out and explained that letting go of her was the most difficult choice he had ever made. Ellen proceeded to describe Gerry as a "special guy" and wished him well.
Which ladies remain on 'The Golden Bachelor' after Week 5?
